Iginla wore 24 for more games than Cammalleri wore 93.

Tough call, I see Cammy as 13, and 93 as Bennett's number but had to go Cammy due to being more impactful overall.....even though I honestly don't know his stats wearing 93.

Hopefully Bennett can get to a point where there is no debate here next time we do this

But the link shows he wore 13 in first stint in Calgary and played 81 games.

In his second stint he wore 93 and that was for 135 games, where he produced 50 goals and 46 assists.

If that's the case he has Bennett's production beat easily wearing 93.

Cammy switched back to 13 after the half season in 2011-12. Once Jokinen left for Winnipeg his old number was freed up.

Anyway this is Cammy for sure. Even though he only played like 25 games in this number, his play in those games was at a level way higher than Bennett has ever reached.

If the question is what it appears to be (Who is the best player to wear this number?), I don’t understand why the answer isn’t Cammalleri in a landslide.

If the question was “Who is the best player while wearing this number?”, I think the answer should still be Cammalleri, but that isn’t the question!

They didn't win those numbers because people understood what the question was asking even if it wasn't worded that way.

People can take the meaning of it how ever they’d like. Some look at tenure, some look at skill. There is no “wrong” answer.

Bennett already won a number, and I think Cammalleri deserves to win a number.

I also think Cammalleri was the better player, even if he wore the number much less.

I look at who was the best player wearing that number while he was a Flame. I don’t think Hull was the best number 16 as a Flame, but maybe his goal production as a Flame was good enough to put him in the running. Maybe Iginla should have got it for 2 numbers.
