Would sure like to know what Mangiapane did last night to get Huberdeau and then the rest of the Panthers by connection upset.

Great point. And whatever he did, it seemed to work. Huberdeau was on an 8 game point streak, averaging 2.5 ppg (!) before last night.

I also like how Rasmus was mucking it up as well. After he scored that opening goal, he probably didn't shut up the entire game...

Scoring a goal like that is a boost of confidence. Let's hope he keeps building from that.

I really think Monahan needs a playmaker on his line. He is good at getting into the “right spots” and getting a shot off. He is just not a puck carrier. Not sure who on the Flames fits that bill (besides Gaudreau and Lindholm)

Mangiapane shows this agitator side every once in a while and he's pretty effective at it. It's great.

I actually wish he would do it more often, he could really be a bit of a poor man's Marchand if he did it more.

There is a guy on the farm team, but I'm told he's too small to give a shot.

Don't forget, I'm a Flames fan first.

The Panthers have been on a long enough hot streak that they were due for a loss, and they also can handle the blow to their point totals as a result of that streak.

It will also make them extra ornery when playing Edmonton, which I'm super happy about.

Not sure what narrative you're trying to build here, but I have the ability to have two thoughts in my head at the same time. I can enjoy either a Panthers win or a Flames win. The Flames needed this one more, so I'm glad it turned out the way it did.

I have to give the Flames extra points for limiting the shot totals and taking away time and space from the Panthers. That's not an easy task at all, but it was key to the win.
Well you posted in the GT after Bennett scored and then stopped posting for some reason... didn't seem like you were enjoying it too much.

My mistake, you called me salty about the Panthers last week so expect a little business when the Flames pound them.

glad you like the Flames better

Hopefully the Panthers don't blow it vs. the Oilers

Having Huberdeau’s focus on Mangiapane all game is a good thing. And taking penalties because of it… That’s a trade off I’ll take all day, any day.

Re: Mangiapane to Huberdeau

It was probably a insult directed at French toast.

Was impressed with the win, especially keeping the Panthers only to one goal. Very solid defensively. Not many teams have done that this year.

Proof to that is available just a couple hours north up the QE2

I didn't even know Mangi had that agitating side - he always looked so innocent! He must've told Huberdeau his dough was flat last night - too much yeast!
