Talking to some festival drirectors, they seem hopeful that things might be back to "normal" this summer.

Sled Island is moving ahead:

Alright, let's try this again!

Los Angeles-based violinist and vocalist Sudan Archives will be joining us as guest curator for Sled Island 2022, running June 22 - 26! The acclaimed electronic and R&B-infused musician and Stones Throw Records recording artist was originally scheduled to guest curate the 2020 edition of the festival, which was cancelled due to the global pandemic.


“I’m excited Sled Island invited me back again to be a part of this year’s event,” says Sudan Archives. “It’s such an eclectic festival and I can’t wait to see my curatorial picks included within this year’s lineup!”

Along with guest curator duties, Sudan Archives will perform at the #1 Royal Canadian Legion (116 7th Ave. SE) on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Sled Island passes grant access to this show (subject to capacity).

Featuring troubadour and wordsmith Josh Ritter, Witch Prophet's operatic soul with a mesmerizing urbane bent, traditional folk with rock, soul, gospel and blues from Susan O'Neill, anthemic harmony-laden sounds by Reuben and the Dark, vocal powerhouse Basia Bulat accompanied by a string quartet, plus deep funk and rare soul from the immutably charming Tanika Charles. Plus 25 more artists to be announced!
