They didn't seem to be patient enough in OT. It's all about possession but they are forcing passes that just aren't there and turning the puck over. Backlund did it twice in row right before the goal.

But, a really entertaining game. Full marks to both teams. Full on battle the entire game. Flames probably deserved to win in regulation with all of those close calls.

I don't think I've ever seen three goal-line saves like that in one game before. That was ridiculously fortunate on the Canes' part.

What has happened to Backlund? Just another terrible performance. Lindholm not that much better. Time for Sutter to shake the lines up.

What a great game by the Flames with absolutely no bounces going their way.

Play like that every game and they will win 90% of the time.

How they didnt score a 2nd goal is mind bottling.

Effort was there, luck not on our side. Unlike the Oilers who don't deserve to be even close in their recent games.

The Flames played a really solid game overall and then the patented brain fart costs them the game. Unbelievably poor play to let Aho come right up the middle completely unimpeded.

Sutter really needs to hand over coaching duties in OT to someone else. His choices are downright weird.

Rasmus on the ice on a 4 on 3? He doesn't ever shoot and is too slow if puck gets turned over.

Backlund he said was the best 3 on 3 player on the Flames. Backlund was terrible all night and shouldn’t have seen the ice.

Kylington should have been the player on the 4 on 3.

I don't get Rasmus on the PP in OT.........at all. It's the time to end the game. Put your 4 best out there and roll the dice. He's such a non-factor on the PP it's a baffling choice. I don't get it.

I think the OT now is in the player's heads. Gotta win one them eventually so they can feel good about themselves and gain some confidence in extra time.

I thought they were the better team, missed penalty shot, 2 pucks on the goal line that didn't go in........feels like they deserved much better.

Why did they deserve to lose? That implies carolina deserved to win and i just dont see what they did that was any better.

A crappy ot win for someone, either team would have been a just result.

This team works hard, competes with heart and desire, plays the right way, plays Sutter's system to a tee. They ought to be commended for the way they play the game. But man, do these guys lack finish. Just have to hope this is a string of bad luck that they'll break out of soon...

Tight checked game.

I feel like the Flames are struggling to get inside on some of these better teams (Vegas, Carolina).

I also am very over Backlund and Andersson being on the ice in OT, but also feel that the team is intentionally playing for the shootout in OT now. 3 on 3 definitely exposes our lack of offensive talent on the backend.

One more OT point - they all add up. Gained another point on the Oilers tonight. I would rather have the loser point than just end up being the loser. E=NG.

I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion. But I don't think Markstrom is a big game goalie.

Frustratingly close to goaltender interference on that OT goal.

Pretty decent game against a pretty decent team.

I miss Yanet, but at least we got a point.

3 on 3 can be fun but also incredibly frustrating. Glad to get the point though. Hopefully they can capitalize on some bounces next game.
