Last night 19, 4 and 55 were issues. Even though 55 scored (and 4 picked up an assist). That pairing struggled, so did Zadorov and Gudbranson on transition. And Tkachuk could not hit the net to save his life (except with his face).

ETA: I'm perfectly happy if they could manage to move Monahan. But his season performance and his salary have zippo to do with the game.
Too much emphasis placed on individual plays and who is to blame for a goal. In a game where team only scored once.

Monahan is being asked to play very low event hockey, which is understandable. He's not good enough to be a shutdown guy, and since his production has dried up, no surprise he has the worst plus/minus on the team.

Flames could use secondary scoring. Monahan isn't giving them any. So yeah, sometimes when they lose it's because a player like Monahan doesn't generate any offense.

You can't blame losses on one player but unfortunately Monahan deserves his criticism. He's just not contributing right now, even if he did make a nice play stripping the puck in the game.

if you're putting Bread on the first PP it wouldn't be for Mony, it would be for Lindholm since he seems to be the one they are teeing up for shots.

maybe they flip Looch and Mony on the PP.

True. If you replace Monahan it’s with Lucic or maybe Backlund (though he’s also the puck carrier so probably not). The second unit doesn’t really play the same system so who knows. If they moved Monahan for Mangiapane or maybe even Kylington, using two D, they would have to reshape their power play.

I agree with all of that. And of course, there are lots of guys without a lot of offence right now.

you made my point much better than i did.

if we don't want to disrupt what they have then Looch for Mony but if they wanted to change the structure then your changes would be very interesting.
