Didn't get to watch the game but damn, that's a lot of penalties. 6 in total - were they mostly legit or no?

Mangiapane with more goals than McDavid thus far!

Yeah unfortunately. Need to work on being more discipline.

That was a butt-clencher for sure at the end.
I expected a loss after all the penalties the Flames took. They managed to get the win while gassed. Wow.

Spoiler!

That was a solid win. Fun game to watch. Isles are my 2nd favorite team, so it was really cool to see the Flames be the first to play them in their new building (again). Even better to get the win!

Watched just the highlights, Markstrom had a great game.

And lots of turnovers. It also seemed like a really fast paced game.

I wonder if Sutter talks like that in real life at meetings etc.
Tre: “what do you think of mangiapane producing on the road?”
Sutter: “he’s a good road player”

Can't say about meetings, but Darryl went to my wife's old school (she was a teacher then) about 8 years ago in Dover and met kids etc....he was very genial, open and "conversational" with both them and the staff. She was highly impressed given what she'd seen of him on TV. And she got me an autograph LOL.

In Sutter we trust.

Sutter is a lot like Bill Belichick where he doesn't care much for the interviews; especially if stupid questions are asked. But if he's in an environment for genuine conversation, he likely has lots to say.

I can't remember, but there was some interview last season a bit after he was hired, where season ticket holders, or something like that got an hour Q&A with him. In that interview he was much more expressive in his responses.

I kinda can’t believe how good the Flames are doing, that win was HUGE. Now honestly win or lose today and it’s still a really really great road trip. Last few seasons that Islander game had auto-loss written all over it.

Other thing- yes Markstrom has been phenomenal but so has Vladar to be honest. Calgarys goaltending has got to be one of the best in the league (the best?).

So much going right for the Flames right now it’s crazy. Mangiapane is sick, the guy just delivers.

Go Flames.

He is coaching the media in addition to the team.

It's really true. They have to figure out what types of questions he actually answers. The good ones.

Flames had played 17 games to the Islanders' 13 games heading into last night's game or close to 50% more- further reinforcing how well they played given how tired they must be.

My favorite are the rhetorically phrased Francis questions that Sutter has nothing to add to except that beautiful look of "are you stupid?"
