If you haven’t seen his brilliant job on Baskets you should. I loved his standup as well. RIP

Was one of my first favorite comedians -didn't follow him much in the last 10 years or so.
I hate to say it but this would also be one of those "I thought he died years ago" ones.

IIRC was pretty big in the 80s. I haven't even thought of him in decades but the moment I saw the title I knew exactly who this was.

Ah man. I am not one to be bothered by celebrity passing, but this is sad news.

He was a funny man.

I hadn't thought of him until he appeared in an interview for the movies that made us talking about Coming to America. He didn't look good in that interview.

I remember he was huge in the standup world in the 80's and 90's. But like Jiri I thought he had been dead a long time now.

I completely forgot about his animated series from the mid-90s.

I can’t overstate how good he was in Baskets. It pains me that some seem to see him as a has been but he earned an Emmy for this just a few years ago.

His standup slayed me as well.

It’s a shame if his death is overshadowed at all by that other guy.

Always loved Louie Anderson, just an incredibly funny man. He struggled a lot in life and likely wasn't always happy but that never stopped him from being cheerful and friendly in every interview or appearance he did.

100% agree with comments on Baskets. One of the best acting roles to make you not think of who the actor was in real life I may have ever seen. He developed and lived an amazing character. So damn good.

Thanks Louie.

Meatloaf and Louie die in the same week? I always thought they were the same person?

I think it’s possible people might have confused John Pinette with Louie Anderson. Pinette was very funny as well, and made some similar self-deprecating jokes about his own weight. He passed away a number of years ago.
