People think the president has vastly more power than they actually have. Half the things on that list aren’t even federal responsibilities.
I’m starting to believe many voters don’t actually want multiple levels of government, with balances and separations of powers at every level. What they want is an absolute ruler who can step in and arrange society exactly so.

I'm not a big Biden fan, but the guy has only been in office for one year, and the GOP (including two f***wits from his own party) are constantly blocking everything they try to pass. Kinda hard to get anything done when the other party is neck deep in QAnon and refuses to govern, no?
Seriously, what's the better option? Handing the keys back to the GOP and going full authoritarian? Good luck with that, America.

Really dumb image, including apparently that he IS Trump.
Maybe go post that to FB or your Qanaon forum. I mean, if you’re not even going to read it…

That Will Smith meme - just an atrocity of information and confusion.
Let's pick one - "Restore soul of America".
This is the kind of gas-lighting crap that people breathe moistly over, when in reality it's a politician giving generalizations of the kind of leadership he is trying to provide. How this is even anything other than a overture to help Americans feel pragmatic is a warped reality.
If people actually think this is an achievable promise, then they need to get their heads out of the meme toilet and come to grips with reality.
Stop sharing crap like that.
FFS.

Not a very good one. I laughed at the Simpsons reference above. That's an example of good political humor. Try harder.

Hit a soft spot eh?
Come on, it's a joke. How can, "Nothing fundamentally changing" be a real promise?

This might come as dumping on Girly but I don't mean to I just want to point out why people aren't taking the Will Smith photo as a 'joke'.
It's presented in the exact same way misinformation is presented. A joke is funny because it's an exaggeration of the truth in some way, shape, or form.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the other side!
It's the absurdity of the chicken wanting to cross the road simply to be at the other side. There's no reason for a chicken to do that without any actual motivation.
That photo isn't funny because it's exactly like the serious memes that MuricaFreedumQanon4Life would share on Facebook.
You'd have to put something completely insane like "No wars with Martians" and "Free Blowjob Machines for All" for it to be humors. Not generic promises that politicians vaguely make.
If people are misinterpreting your joke as serious then your attempt at humour has failed. Which happens to the best of us (not me though, I'm hilarious 100% of the time).

But this isn't Facebook. This is the great intelligent forum of Calgary Puck. Why would I hsve to account for triggering crazy right winged facebook reactions on here?

So maybe act like it isn’t Facebook by not posting the crap that popped up on your wall?
It’s bad enough we have to read you rationalize how little you pay your entry level staff by acting as if there’s nothing you could possibly do about it along with your constant “many sides” style talking points, so I don’t think it’s asking too much for you to spare us from lame political memes.

I’ll believe anything Will Smith tells me. Unless he tries to convince me that his wife doesn’t have sex with other men. That’s an open marriage and everybody knows it. Well, open for her anyways.

He did manage to sign executive order after executive order.
https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2021...cutive-orders/
He built his campaign around student loan forgiveness, $15/ hr minimum wage, “kids in cages”, expanding Medicare, free college, guaranteed maternity leave and snuffing out virus. Some posters sure pissy that merely pointing this out is out of line, heaven forbid anyone in the media actually call him out on any of this.

Here's an idea...don't promise things to voters that you don't have the power to deliver.

What would Bernie run on if he took that approach?
