Anyone know any legit sites that take bets on things like Ovi breaking the goal record?

It's too bad that he played through 2 lockouts and a COVID shortened season. He lost about 2 seasons worth of points.

Canada won summit series by intentionally injuring Russian best player. Canada won Challenge cup by blatant interference that was conveniently missed. Yet Canadians always think that it is Russians who are cheaters.

The part that is weird is the sudden improvement in production. He hasn't put up points like he is now in like 10 years. There are other examples of guys being good old. But they don't usually go back to their prime production after being below it for years.

Selanne may be a similar example, but he was weird in the sense that he was bad when he left Anaheim and then really good as soon as he returned.

I'd rather a Canadian own that record than a Russian. Even if it's Whine...

I'm indifferent to where the player was born, players nationality does not change my enjoyment of watching them play.

I didn't say that I don't enjoy watching him play. However, I would rather have a Canadian hold the record than one of Putin's buddies:

I mean, prior to that cup he did have a reputation as a choker in the playoffs...anyway i'll probably get flamed for this but I think he's a bit overrrated...give me Crosby over him any day
He had 15 goals and 27 points in that playoff run... probably one of the top 25 or so best playoff performances by a player ever.

They're all on steroids'/PEDs. Most people still fail in their late 30s.

Guys just a physical specimen that has benefited from advances in sports health. Lebron, Brady, ect. If you're that good you can play longer now adays.

Ovi is awesome. Now that he's won a cup, I have no doubt in my mind his next goal is to try to break that goals record. He's already the greatest goal scorer of all time IMO. If he was playing in the 80's, I have no doubt guy would be over a 1,000 goals by his current age.

People think steroids is just some magical elixir that does everything for you. Steroids help your muscles repair and heal faster so that you can over train them vs. naturally. You still need to put in the hard work in actual training and practice, as well as possess ungodly genetics to continue to do so at an older age.

To be fair steroids are not the only PED. localized HGH injections has key points like knees and hips are likely standard practice for longevity.

I still maintain it's low quality Eastern-bloc food and cheap vodka that are giving him his Russian super soldier strength.

If you start looking into your favorite players beliefs you're going to have a bad time.
My interest in AO or WG or whomever begins and ends with the on ice product.

If I was 'Bezos Rich' I'd invent a Time Machine and just plunk Ovechkin into the NHL in 1981 and watch the carnage ensue.

That being said, I think a goalie of that Era getting behind one of Ovechkin's shots might actually die of internal hemorrhaging.

But I do agree that Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer of all time. The fact that he's even anywhere close to those records in the modern game especially in light of lockouts and shortened seasons is a borderline miracle.
