Does Live Aid count? Or maybe I'm thinking of the Freddie tribute concert... Which one was at Wembley in early 90's and broadcast all over the world?

Actually that might have described both lol. Wait, wasn't there a Farm Aid too? Was that the one the Geldof arranged?

Also wasn't The Wall in Berlin televised? I feel like that should count?

I know, I know... I should just google all this. I kinda wanna sleep tho lol.

I remember seeing Alanis live on an awards show doing You Oughta Know, and it completely changed my opinion of her.
I always wish I could remember which one it was as it was incredible.

Instead let me give you a classic from the Fishin Musician SCTV.

Strictly speaking, this wasn't "live". But the creative way of mocking the playback qualifies:

The Alice in Chains one is really good too.

Don't know if we were talking about specific live concerts, but there's quite a bit from Live 8. I got swept up in the Pink Floyd reunion a few weeks ago. I was too young to realize how special it was to have them back together, and damn they sounded great.

Ok so, answering my original post... I feel like these are all easy-pickins and that I'm probably preaching to the choir here, buuut...

Live Aid was the one Geldof put together to help feed Ethiopia, and it was held at Wembley and broadcast internationally. It's also the one that gave us this undeniable masterpiece:

and many other great performances, like:

Farm Aid was the one organized by Willie Nelson to help American farmers. Although, technically, Dylan was the one that planted the seed (ha!), whith his on-stage comments during Live Aid about American farmers struggling to pay their mortgages. Truth be told, I can't really remember any specific performances from that one.

The other one I do remember though is the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, which was just a monster-sized pile of redonkulous awesomeness.

And then, of course, The Wall Live from Berlin!

Finally, this moment in time from Lady Di's funeral:

I'm not even really much of a Beastie Boys fan, but I love this performance because Ad-Rock looks like he's having so much fun and he's got alotta rizz going on:

Nutshell by AIC Unplugged is totally awesome, but I see it has been posted.

A-ha Take on Me unplugged is also pretty sweet and it's neat to see how the audience is just in heaven:

Find myself watching Sober by Tool from when Maynard was super freaky a fair amount. Not my favourite song by them, but love the performance:

My favourite Pixies song and damn do they nail it:

Jeff Buckley's performance on a Paris TV show not too long before he died. He inspired other performers like Chris Cornell and Radiohead. It's such a shame that he died just when he was starting to take off. Such an incredible talent.

Loved that show, it was a seriously under rated comedy for its time.

It was heartbreaking when it aired as it was the day after Chester's friend Chris Cornell passed away. They were supposed to play their first single off the new album but switched it up given the news.

Even more heartbreaking when we know what happened a couple months later.

Chester had a lot of trouble getting thru this one. You can see and hear the emotion around the 3:10 mark. Around the 4:10 mark, he screws up the words, you can see guitarist look up to see if he's okay. He was struggling.

From start to finish, just a gut wrenching performance. Will always stick with me.
