As many faults as Wideman has, his chemistry with Gaudreau highlights (to me anyway) the guy is a cerebral player.

Long, long ago, I read an interview in which Cliff Fletcher said he always wanted to convert Paul Reinhart to a winger, but the team never had the depth on D to do it. In that respect, Wideman and Reinhart are a little bit alike.

I always wanted them to try Housely at centre.

I think they actually did that for part of one game. It didn't work out. I actually think it might have worked if they had started in training camp and given him time to learn the position.

I'm starting to second guess myself on whether or not Johnny would be a good fit with Bennett. They seem to play very different games with Bennett being an all out, all the time sort of player, driving the net hard and taking picks straight into the slot whereas Gaudreau slows the game down a lot.... Not sure

They both look good with each other and with other players. They elevate their linemates games.

Yeah Bennett has been playing well enough to carry a line lately. Spread out what limited offensive ability we have.

Yeah I thought of that too. Jinxed him. Alright here we go:

Gaudreau has a paltry 2 goals this season. Doesn't look like he's going to score 24 this year.

Back tied for the league. IMO he still hasn't had a real big breakout game. Like a 1G, 2A game. Right now he is mostly getting it done consistently a ppg.

The Flames have played 4 OT games.

Gaudreau has 1 goal and 2 primary assists.

When do we play the Flames? That should help boost the numbers...

Johnny in the league lead for assists again. 5th in overall scoring in the NHL. Coming on strong! Also hudler should have scored off that sweet backhand pass.

The crazy part is with all the bad bounces he's had up to this point - and just about everyone he's played with gripping their sticks too tight - he could conceivably be leading the league in points.... and I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that for those of us who've watched him shift after shift.

He's always making something happen, and as good as he's looked developing to this point, I honestly think his hockey IQ might be even higher than we'd thought early on. Scary.

I'm thinking he's capable of being as good as Patrick Kane

As awesome as it would be for Johnny to have a top 5 scoring year, I'm nervous at how much it would make hime worth this offseason.
