Sorry, was just messing with you. I agree, there are many phones that have a micro SD slot. I just thought it was funny that you choose to use Samsung as an example when they just removed the SD slot for their latest release.

Haha, for sure. It certainly didn't help my point.

Not seeing many differences besides the 6 digit passcode, lower/uppercase keyboard display, and the swiping away of background apps.

Damn, for the first time my phone is too old to even upgrade to the new iOS. Maybe it's time for an upgrade.

Havent heard any reports on this, but strange blur appears and disappears the right side of the screen when the phone is unlocked using TouchID. Doesn't do it with passcode. Kind of irritating.

All phones that supported iOS 8 support 9. 4S through 6s. What phone do you have?

The new app switcher is slick. Super smooth scrolling.
San Francisco is a really nice font.
Siri is looking bright, same colourful design as watchOS.
Content blockers don't work on my old iPhone.

What phone are you using? I don't see it on the 6 plus.

It is the 5s; the strange flare seems to depend on the arrangement of my app icons on the screen. Its definitely new since the update.

Holy crap, finally? As an android user but someone who has to support iPhones in a corporate environment, it's about ####ing time. Typing in complex email or wifi passwords with an iPhone keyboard is a massive pain in the ass

What I don't understand is the several blog posts I've seen on "how to get rid of the ugly lower case keyboard" tutorials. Who the hell would ever want to go back?

If it depends on the icons then is it some kind of transparency effect?

It is looking like it has to do the transition effect, when the icons all fall down to the screen when unlocking the phone. Not sure the technical term for the effect though.
Edit: okay, fixed it! There was a setting under the Accessibility options to "reduce motion". Now the unlock transition effect is gone.

Regular iphone 4. I thought I was on iOS 8 but I'm actually on 7. That would be why.

I like the idea behind "wifi assist", and it does seem that my phone is giving up on weak wifi connections quicker (although it could be my imagination). But I'm not seeing any visual indication that it has abandoned the wifi connection in favour of LTE. Reviews suggested that the wifi icon would turn grey and be present alongside the LTE/3G indicator to show that the phone sees the wifi, but it sucks. But I'm not seeing this behaviour, even my my garage where I can nearly draw a line on the floor where my wifi usefulness ends.
Anyone else have any experience with wifi assist? Not a big deal at all - just curious.

Does anyone have any experience with Iphone deals on Black Friday? My contract is up for renewal and after speaking with the Telus rep to upgrade to the 6S 64GB he mentioned it may be a good idea to wait till black Friday as they have seen $100 +/- off on the latest iPhones if i don't want to pay full price.
I'm currently using the 5s and the phone has no issues so if it's worth a $100 i may wait the 2 months for the 6s 64gb

I've noticed it working. The minute you step outside our office the WiFi doesn't work, but you're still connected to it. Basically apps and web works now - so that's the confirmation I suppose. It seems to take a minute to figure it out though.

Yeah - I think that's it. I was expecting a bit more of a visual confirmation in the bar at the top according to some reviews, but I do notice that it is much quicker to toggle between wifi and LTE/3G when the signal starts to fade.

Last year Apple didn't have any Black Friday promos.
