I'm not going to try to belittle the season that Liverpool had. Sure, they had quite a bit of luck, but anybody who's going to put up 90+ points deserves to be champion, period. Putting up 97 points is simply incredible, credit where credit is due. Outstanding campaign, they are simply unlucky that it coincides with the most dominant team in PL history (198 points over two seasons, you've got to be kidding me).

don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly sad that City got it over the line. But you simply can't take away anything from Liverpool this season.

They're an amazing team. No shame in losing to them.

Liverpool are 25 points up on the next team in the table.

Well I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Spurs/Everton match yesterday. I don’t know how much detail you guys are interested in, so let me just say it was incredible! That stadium, all team support aside, is really magnificent and they did such a great job. It’s steep so you feel close to the action and there cannot be a bad seat in the house. The amenities are top notch and they really don’t gouge you for a pint either. The Goal Line bar (which runs the entire distance of the south end) is so awesome. I spent a fair amount of time there singing and chanting ahead of the game, which was just awesome.

As for the game, you already know we drew. But it was a fun Everton contingent on hand that was gleefully singing when City took the 2-1 lead. They also joined in to sing (and maybe even started) “we’re all gonna have a party...when Tottenham wins the cup!” (to the tune of (For he’s a jolly good fellow if you want to play along)

Anyway, nothing beats making to your teams match, and the great time before/during/after. It’s not quite once in a lifetime, but super rare and of course I know most of you can relate!

love that there's no away goals in the playoffs. Aston Villa and West Brom heading for pens as it stands, 8 minutes to go.

EDIT: Villa go through on pens. Hope they beat Leeds in the final.

What have Leeds ever done to you? How have Leeds hurt you?

nothing, I'm just amused that they keep bottling it

but they scored now, so it's 3-3 on aggregate. A lot more fun than the game yesterday.

I used to have a couple of brothers from Leeds on my men's team. Great guys actually. Just a sad team.

This Leeds keeper is mental though. Ederson he is not.

yeah, fun game. Bit wild and unstructured, but I prefer that to West Broms bus yesterday.

Derby has to keep testing Casilla, always looks like he has a mistake in him.

Looking grim for Leeds now. Down a goal and a man with five minutes left.

fair play to Lampard, taking Derby to the playoff final is a great achievement. Especially after already being down 2-0 on aggregate.

should be an interesting final. Got no preference there, would be happy for either team.

Are you a Grealish fan? I like him. Thus, I'd prefer Lampard & Derby beat Villa, so we can buy up ol Jack.

I'd also like Maddison from Leicester, although apparently he's a bit of a c*nt.

Allegedly both Tottenham targets in past windows. Apparently Grealish was too expensive (of course we spent zero, so even I’m too expensive at that rate!) and Maddison hates Spurs. I think he’s a Liverpool fan, so maybe that matters?

To be honest, I feel like these players don’t make career decisions based on their favoured clubs as kids. At least not until their playing out their years. But that’s just what I heard.

most don't. I believe Solskjaer was a Liverpool fan too.

don't know about Grealish, I always come away unimpressed when I watch Villa. Maddison is awesome though. Really like David Brooks from Bournemouth too, some really talented British kids breaking through recently.

Why are chelsea playing a friendly against an mls squad tonight? With first team players

Seeing that RLC went off injured with what looks like a serious ankle injury

I think the grealish issue last summer was spurs and grealish thought there was a deal, and then villa got a cash injection and didnt need the money badly anymore so they raised the price

Hes looked great for villa whenever I've seen this year though

Final on the 27th should be a cracker, league one the day before too
