Default Ken Chinn (Mr. Chi Pig) of SNFU is dead.

Big part of my youth.
Can't believe the band started almost 40 years ago. I feel old.
Loved these guys in my punk days way back when.

It’s sad that he died so young but it’s understandable.

He was a mind-blowing frontman for a great band. RIP Chi.

Chinn’s life was profiled in the documentary Open Your Mouth and Say… Mr. Chi Pig in 2010. SNFU’s exploits were detailed in Chris Walters’ 2014 book “SNFU: What No One Else Wanted to Say.” The book’s epigraph — “Playing live is the best high I’ve ever had” — was attributed to Chinn.

One of my university highlights was interviewing Marc and Brent Belke from SNFU on my radio show in '95. Midway through the interview Chi randomly walked into the booth, flipped me off and walked out without a word.

Sad to see the man go.

Met him once during their last tour. Had a nice chat and he was really nice. Spent a lot of my youth catching up to my friends on listening to Canadian punk rock. Glad for it.

Between SNFU and the Smalls and Dayglo and No Means No and Propaghandi, life was pretty effing sweet.

Rest well Chi Pig.

I think I first heard the band on a record (that I still have), called "it came from inner space"
Have to see who else was on it, but had SNFU, down syndrome, and the Malibu Ken's for sure.

The deaths hurt more when it was part of your life and someone you've actually met, although was in the 80's

Used to see them play at the polish hall in Edmonton. To this day I still remember all the words to cannibal cafe

You weren’t in the Calgary punk scene unless you saw the Smalls 400 times, and caught SNFU’s “last show ever”......for the 10th time at the Back Alley.

RIP Chi. A truly under rated lyricist and AMAZING frontman.
