Capitals: 49-26-7, 105 points (fourth in the eastern conference) Lightning: 54-23-5, 112 points (first in the eastern conference)
This is the third time the two teams will have played each other in the playoffs. The last time was in 2011, a four game sweep won by the Lightning. The first time was in 2003, the Capitals had a 2-0 series lead and then the Lightning struck back with 4 straight wins including a triple OT win to clinch the series.

Bolts will be a huge hurdle to get over but I'd like to see the Caps make the finals. Screw Tampa, It'll be another decade at least before I forget about 04.

That's so much weight off Washington's back. They got out of the 2nd round and took out Pittsburgh doing it. That team is gonna come out flying in the next round. Caps in 6.

Really don't think Washington has much of a chance but who knows. Boston is arguably better than them and Tampa dismantled them quite easily. I'll say Tampa in 5.
This is what I was thinking. It really feels like uncharted territory. This will be the most interesting final four in a long time.
If Winnipeg gets through, it'll pretty much be every team I wanted to see in the last 4 when the playoffs began (Tampa aside - but there wasn't a team in their bracket I liked anyway).
Vegas or Winnipeg vs Washington in the final would be great.
