I don't like the idea that people make their HOF judgements based on the worst guy to get in. If you do, it's just a race to the bottom. You'll always find someone who can compare to the worst guy currently in the HOF.

Before Eli, I'm sure there was some other guy that Eli fans pointed to as evidence that he deserved to get in.

Seems ridiculous to me to base whether someone gets into the HOF or not based on Super Bowls in the sport that requires the most personnel to win (both on and off the field). Brady wins zero superbowls if he gets drafted by Cleveland.

Terry Bradshaw I imagine. And I fully agree Super Bowls shouldn't be everything, which is why they aren't. It's not like John Elway wasn't a HOFer in January 1997 and the suddenly became one in January 1998. But Super Bowls are part of the equation, and probably disproportionally so (see.....Terry Bradshaw).

Also....Eli fans? There's such a thing as fans specifically of Eli Manning? Do they enjoy terrible interceptions and puzzled looks that much?

I mean, if you hate the Pats you kinda became an Eli fan (and Foles to a lesser extent) by default.

its interesting to think about a guy like Drew Brees, first ballot hall of famer with or without a super bowl. If Brett "turnover" Favre doesnt make a stupid cross the body throw in the NFC championship game, then Drew Brees has no Super bowl wins and is likley looked at like Marino. Just shows it is a team win and sometime a bit of luck.

Giants fans are weirdly defensive about Eli.

Steelers are signing Haskins. I like it, there's no risk having him as a 2/3 to see if there's something to work with.

Uh, who is the Steelers' #1? Because if it's Ben again you're gonna have a bad time.

he will unless he retires, let's not kid ourselves. I'm not a fan of it either, but if your alternative is Mason Rudolph, then you might as well stick with Ben for one more year and go scorched Earth after that.

In other news, here's new Lions coach Dan Campbell. He seems like an intelligent guy.

The media is having fun with his presser. Sounds like a bit of a meathead but I suppose it could translate to being a good motivator. Time will tell.

I hate when people get judged for how they talk on live camera...its hard for many to do so. Sure he has been around it a while but this is an entire different level of pressure.

I watched it live and yeah it was a bit weird but he came across as a guy really anxious and not overly comfortable but just trying to be genuine. It didnt work that well but it hardly is a reflection on his intelligence.

Kevin Stefanski named NFL Coach of the Year by Sporting News and PFWA

Cleveland’s 1st-year head coach led the team to its best results in a generation

https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news...u0YNVF6wvyt_JQ

Quote:
Stefanski is the first Browns head coach to earn the PFWA's honor since Marty Schottenheimer won AFC Coach of the Year in 1986. For Sporting News, it's the first time since Paul Brown won it in 1953.

Sporting News' award was voted on by the league's coaches. PFWA's was by its organization's members.

I’m just curious where he got the idea to bite off people’s knee caps after getting knocked down. Big fan of mutant league football maybe?

This might be the most embarrassing head coaching search I've ever witnessed.
