The fact that Andy keeps giving him jobs wherever he goes despite the kid being a monumental piece of garbage reflects poorly on Andy.

I don't think it's unfair to say Andy has been a HOF coach and a HOS parent. Doesn't make him responsible for what his kid did here, but it's fair to wonder if Andy is an enabler. Kid also apparently had an Adderall prescription so it's just sad that he's got a good shot at a walk here considering he sounds like a disaster.

It's probably his way of trying to keep an eye on Britt. Trying to keep him in check.

So the holdup is diva Wentz doesn’t want to play for Chicago? Christ I cannot wait for this loser to be off the Eagles and being an entitled brat somewhere else. Enjoy Indy.

Chicago has been a grave yard for QB's for decades. I mean how bad has it been there when Mitch Trubisky is their 5th all time passing yardage leader?
They dont look like they have a whole lot going for them elsewhere on the team moving forward either.

He doesn’t have a say in the matter outside of Chicago smartly not wanting to bring in a guy who doesn’t want to be there but Wentz isn’t Watson with a no trade. He simply got his feefees hurt that the team gave him a gigantic contract, brought in as many weapons as they could afford, and drafted a QB in the second round. Screw that nerd.

A guy coming off an all-time horrible season, with serious injury and character concerns, and one of the worst contracts in the league, should be thankful anyone wants him. Wouldn't surprise me if the real reason he won't go to Chicago is because Foles will still be there.

This isn't a Watson situation where the team has failed the player. This is a player who the team has bent over backwards in order to coddle is fragile ego and now he's behaving like a spoiled brat.

If you can succeed in Chicago you will be the toast of the town for life. That's a huge market.

The thing is that you can make a case the Bears are too good for him as he was the worst QB in the NFL last season.

Yup. People still talk about Rex Grossman.
However, hard to blame Wentz here. Your new coach and GM are both on the hot seat if you come to Chicago so the future there is up in the air entirely while Ballard/Reich is a solid state right now in Indy. Not to mention the reunion between Wentz and his old coach.
I'm on team Wentz here, don't come to Chicago. We don't need to trade more for yet another bottom end QB to keep us at at 7 win team. I'd rather watch Foles bottom this team out and take another shot in the draft at a QB.

Sucks though because the team has a really good defense and that's half the equation. I feel the Bears are a good QB away from having a really good team as a Raiders fan I haven't seen even an average defense for almost two decades (in fact they are coming of the worst decade of defense ever for an organization) so having a really good defense isn't something you want to waste. I think they are right to look at all their options for improving at the position but I just don't see Wentz as being the answer. As I have said before they would be better off getting a guy like Mariota that's played in the playoffs and will be cheap over taking on the contract of Wentz who may have a higher ceiling than Mariota but his floor is worst QB in the league which is terrifying given the contract. Mariota is better than any QB they have had since Cutler and could be a solid bridge QB allowing the Bears to draft a QB and bring him along slowly.

They got something which is better than nothing considering the contract. Indianapolis is probably the one destination that Wentz may succeed but if he performs worse than Rivers did that organization will be in a bind. Colts had to do something at the position and didn't have to give up much so I guess it's okay for them but the clock is now ticking for that regime as if Wentz bombs it will likely be at the cost of jobs.

Not a bad deal. Wentz goes where he wants, and if he plays well the Eagles gain a 1st rounder. Fair deal. I am assuming the condition is playoff-based?

I actually like it for everybody involved. Philly needed to rip off the band-aid and get rid of the contract, Indy needed a QB and didn't have to give up much, and Wentz gets to work with Reich again. Win-win-win.
EDIT: here's the condition

Called this a while back. Going to reunite with Frank Reich.
I bet he has a resurgence.
