Teammates that have been more successful together than Arnold and Gaudreau have struggled to play together at the NHL level so doubtful that it would be a good idea to try and have these guys play together just because they did for one year in college.
I agree sureLoss but is he able to pull the same moves against the other top teams D? Army isn't exactly a high ranked team are they? He is scoring at 2 points per game right now though I believe.. so he must be consistent on the score sheet if nothing else.
He is able to both wrap up his degree this year AND play with his brother, two things he said he wanted to return to college to accomplish. All signs point to him turning pro in under 5 months..
He seemed to do alright emasculating the team Canada WJ team. Time will tell if his skillset translates, but he'll get time to develop at the pro level; Weber isn't being matched up on him every shift from the word go.

They only show the first Gaudreau goal, guess the second was too much of a carbon copy. Also, they credit Arnold with the hat trick, where as earlier in this thread I think we had him at 2G, 2A
His plays definitely deprived team Canada of spirit, the definition of emasculate. Did you think his constant play of making Canada defense look like fools bolstered their spirit or something? Seriously, get your head out of your ***.
I think people are taking my comments wrong, they were in no way an attack on JG, I love this kid, I requested my stag in Boston over a host of other cities just so I could go see him play live in March. It was simply a general inquiry as to how he performs against the more elite teams and by that I meant he is still getting a chance to play against good players.. it isn't like every game is 11-0. Granted he is among the best, but being creative will help keep it challenging for him.
I am super excited to see him in a Flames jersey in the spring, but there were some comments his play would start to decline now in the NCAA and I just think he will be fine for 5 months. Excuse the rambling sentences but I just had to spew out what I was thinking to make my thoughts more clear... hopefully :P

That's funny! They actually do show both of his goals! The second looks so similar to the first that it is easily confused for a replay at a different angle.

I didn't think his play constantly made the defense look like fools at all.

He was good in that semi-final but hardly dominant or a step above everyone else.

Well then I really just don't know what else to say to you then, except I really am now convinced that you don't know what good hockey is. Seriously you discredit yourself more and more the longer you're on this forum, I'm starting to understand why you always have such divergent opinions than everyone else. You really just don't understand the sport of hockey.

I don't think anyone took your question wrong - it was a valid question that needs to be asked.
It's just that the answers are all so overwhelmingly positive from the people that see him a lot. This kid doesn't just do these things every once in a while, he literally does it every game.
As for him being fine for 5 months - absolutely. When I said get him out of there ASAP, I meant in 5 months. Any longer, i.e. another year, would be detrimental to his development.
But even in 5 months, he is at risk of developing bad habits. He is simply too good for the NCAA at this point.

I agree that Arnold has gone under the radar a bit.
I think he is a really smart two-player. He has been PKing and being the shut-down C since he was a sophomore on the championship team.
e is a smart enough player to be a good 3rd line C. However, his challenge is his foot speed. We will see if he can become an NHLer, but if he does, I would be shocked I he is anything other tan bottom 6.
However, you never know.
But chemistry in lower leagues is irrelevant. Gaudreau will play with offensive players and shouldn't have any trouble creating chemistry with them.

LOL
Okay then.
Don't think a guy emasculated team so I don't understand hockey. I guess that pathetic line of thinking makes it easier for you to dismiss people that don't agree with you on everything but it is about the dumbest/laziest way to argue a point when it comes to sports. Only slightly better than the I played AAA did you arguement that comes out every once and awhile.

meh my panties aren't in a twist at all. Just made a comment on a post like the message board is meant for.
