Is this a decent buy as a bedroom tv?

You couldn't pay me to buy anything from RCA. Just my opinion.

They have Vizeo LCD TV's at Costco for around $500. Much better brand for the same price.

Given RCA's history I would also stay away. Their products tend to be pretty good, but tend to age quickly for the most part. They do make some good things, but also some bad. Like when I used to sell TVs the entry level 27" RCA was $500 and the high end was $750. Anything $700 and over wasn't bad, but the entry level stuff; we would have to switch out floor models before the model year was over because the picture was so bad.

A few places have had Sony 32" LCDs for around $600. To me that would be the better buy.

Also one entry level TV that has been surprisingly good for me is Insignia. (FS/BB house brand.) Bought 2 15" LCDs two years ago for $99 each and they both have been good.

That is a decent brand then, is it? I have seen those while at Costco but never heard of the name before. I would like a new LCD for the bedroom but wasn't sure if this one was a good one to bite on or not.

I don't own one, yet. But the reviews from CNET and others give it the thumbs up. A few mention the standard def picture is 'so-so', but that's the case with all LCD TV's in my experience.
