I was thinking much along the same lines. I think Dave Grohl needs to open some kind of centre to help these people. Hes the one off the top of my head that always seems to have it together.

I would have thought the same about Chester before today. He was always so happy/playful/energetic during interviews/meet and greets/on stage.

Very true, this kind of comes out of left-field for me. I thought Chester had gotten his act together as well but I will floored if anything happens to Dave, dont even suggest it!

I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed about the prospect of no more Linkin Park albums.

Same here. I enjoyed their most recent albums, Living Things especially.

devastating. "Hybrid Theory" was pretty much the soundtrack of my teen years (along with SOAD and Slipknot). Saw them live a couple of times and their live version of "Pushing Me Away" was the only thing that ever made me cry at a concert.

Extremely sad news.

Seemed like a guy that, from his song's lyrics, had been struggling with an internal battle right from the beginning.

I'd guess in a lot of cases, it is their struggles that drives their art and connected with people. Writing and singing about being a tortured soul is kind of a pillar of being a rock star. No one really wants to hear someone sing about how happy and content they are with life.

Gene Simmons would be up for that challenge.

His talents were kind of wasted in Linkin Park's last few albums but the man had a fantastic voice. He was intertwined with Scott Weiland (replaced him in STP) and Chris Cornell who were also phenomenal vocal talents. I sure hope these types of suicides aren't as influential as they appear to be. I understand that people have inner demons but it's so hard to imagine that life could be so bad for these men. Maybe the pressures associated with success and trying to appease fans is harder to live with than we may think?

Very sad, Linkin Park was my number one band in junior high school and he leaves behind a lot of kids.

There's no voice quite like his. Even if you didn't like the band(s), everyone knows his sound.

LP can't survive that.

Six kids, and seemed like an all around great guy, troubles aside. But if you listen to the lyrics over 20 years, it's pretty easy to see that the struggles had always been there.

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest

So sad right now with this news. I managed to see LP live just the once and they were amazing. Chester had this way with the audience and a voice that could scream with the best but soften to bring tears to your eyes.Their music touched so many peoples teenage years and hit home with lyrics that you could relate too.

He battled so many demons throughout his life but you can only guess that fight just became too much, even with friends and family around him.

Taken from us too soon.

Sad news indeed. My condolences go out to his family and fans. I was never a huge fan of linkin park but the recent passing of Chris Cornell hit me pretty hard so I know how tough these things can be for fans, I'm hoping all his fans are able to try and somehow come to terms with what can only be described as a tragedy. He spoke at Chris Cornell's funeral and apparently they found his body on what would have been Chris' birthday, that's really really sad. RIP

One of my favourite songs. I would blast it when feeling down. This is very sad.

Was always hoping for something else from Dead by Sunrise. Sadly that will never come.
