Hitting his head on the glass was bad enough but I didn't like the looks of how hard his head hit the ice on the way down. Brutal hit. Hope he's ok.

Is it just me or does it look like Jagr is wearing a Gretzky era Jofa helmet in that clip? If so, maybe a concussion could’ve been prevented with a better lid. Hopefully he heals up fast and gets back on the ice soon.

Why was he wearing one of those old Jofa lids?

Too bad -- could have used a little extra protection. Ugly looking play.

Do I have to be the one that mentions the idiocy of wearing that useless lid?

Jagr has yet to skate since the incident. Not looking good, and the minute chance he may have been able to get over injury, get fitness, and get confidence, and, have the Flames want him back, is likely gone with this setback.

Sounds like he came back to play a few seconds of a game today just to get credit for the game to be able to accumulate another game towards the minimum he needs to qualify to play in the playoffs, which don’t start for a couple weeks, but Kladno has now clinched a spot. If my reading is right and google translate is right, he will do that each game until the playoffs and hopefully his injury is better for the start of the playoffs.

Sounds like his head is ok from the big hit, but the hit that knocked him out also reaggrivated the knee injury he got when here. So outside of popping in the ice and being on the roster in games to be able to be eligible, he won’t really play for a few weeks and hope the knee rehabs ok.

Bump, as this absolute legend is still going:
https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2021/09/20...ri-kladno/amp/

Quote:
The 49-year-old Jagr is still playing, if you were unaware, and helped his team, Rytíři Kladno of the Czech Republic, to a split of two games over the weekend.

He factored into all three Kladno goals with a pair himself, including the game-winner on a wraparound, and added an assist for good measure.

His importance to the team is a main factor in why he’s staying around.

“The main reason I am still playing is my responsibility to the club,” Jagr said in April via Michael Langr of NHL.com. “If I did not have any, I would not be flying around on the ice here. Because I am embarrassing myself there, I can say. … “I expect much more from myself and I don’t have it,” he said. “But I am aware that when I leave, many (business) partners will leave the team too. That’s why I have no choice.”

What an absolute legend. I'm so glad that he was once a Flame (albeit ever so briefly).

It is a bit disheartening to hear that he mainly plays because he is paying the bills for the club he owns. It's somewhat of a Mario Lemieux situation.

Jagr is a ####ing legend. Love it.

I was lucky enough to get a picture with him while he was with the Flames and my wife says its the best smile I've ever had.

More like Jackie Moon.

Maybe he'll wrestle a bear, or trade Tomas Plekanec for a washing machine, or something.
