The Athletic: 41%
Hockey Viz: 39%
Money Puck: 44%

Goal differential

The Flames have a 0.8% chance of winning the cup. Do you know what that means?!?!

Nothing...it means nothing. It all means nothing. So many things can happen in the next three months.

By all means....speculate away. I still think the Flames get into the playoffs. It's all about the ride after all

Either way they don’t mean anything.
Vegas is 18 games over 500 to make the playoffs you need to be about 12. So in the remaining half of the season they need to play worse then everyone but the Coyotes and Sabers.

So in the first half of the season 29 of 31 teams accomplished this feat. So even if Vegas was the team we expected them to be at the start of the season (which they aren't) they would still be likely to make the playoffs. They have to be number 1 draft pick bad to finish with less than 94 Pts. 18-24 or 14-20-8 and they make the playoffs 99% seems about right.

I do enjoy seeing the Oilers at 1.1% chance of making the playoffs.

It looks like we're at the 50/50 level now for playoff chances.

It looks like 8 teams fighting for 4 spots without much to give between any of them. Should be a fun second half.

San Jose 66
Dallas 65
St Louis 62
Colorado 53

Chicago 53
Calgary 49
Minnesota 33
Anaheim 29

Our goal should be catching California.

I think we can do it

And it's made better with our 1.9% chance of winning the cup.

We're more likely to win the cup than they are to make the playoffs.

A record of .577 the rest of the way should be enough to get it done. Certainly doable.

NHL is headed for more skewed first-round playoff matchups

https://www.tsn.ca/talent/nhl-is-hea...chups-1.975525

Ten of the league’s 16 best teams are in the West. Los Angeles, like Minnesota, is at risk of missing the postseason because of the strength of the conference. One of Philadelphia or the Rangers, both projected to finish below Los Angeles by point total, is likely to get in.
