I agree, but I would put the brakes on the majority of comments tonight that thought he played well. I thought he was scrambling all night. MTL hit two posts and had at least two other shots that almost went in due to sloppy tending.
Wolf got the win, and made some good saves, but he is not there yet. He played ok, and we were lucky to win. The NHL doesn't have a book on him yet, but they will.
That being said, I am confident that he will become a number one tender in 2-3 years.
I’d agree
The team has been really good in front of him. Not a lot of grade A’s, which is nice
For some reasons, always liked POS players like Pospisil.
But yeah, not against us.
Hope he's sent a strong message early in the game so he doesn't try to bust the knee of someone.
Quote:
It looked like Pospisil was trying to kiss Suzuki there lol
Quote:
What !!! Did Pospisil kiss Sukes helmet Is there bromance happening lol
Quote:
What is Pospisil doing?
Do you wanna die? Because that's how you die jabroni.
Quote:
slaf comes in to defend Nick against Pospisil. Love it!
Quote:
Should have got the brakes beat off him for going after the captain.
Quote:
That's it boys! Stick up for your captain against that rat!
Quote:
Did not like pospisil going after Nick, but I think he's someone I'd want on by team
Quote:
Xhekaj out to teach that inbred moron a lesson, we cannot allow that to happen ever…
Quote:
Dunno what Pospisil said to make Suzuki angry, but Xhekaj should send him to the nether realms.
Quote:
Popsicle going to get split in half by the big boys when he gets out of the box...
Quote:
Why did Props-imbecile maul Suzuki? Idiot.
Quote:
Why is Popsicle's head still on his shoulders.
Quote:
Popsicle is lucky that Arber did not catch him...
Tank for MSL!
Quote:
Hopefully it's nothing too serious. Get this L for Marty.
Quote:
Yeah I am sure Marty would appreciate a loss....get real
Quote:
We need this L so bad.
Quote:
I feel like the guys are going to play hard for Msl I now expect a guaranteed win.
Quote:
So your saying we need to lose about 5 in a row.
Quote:
3 should do it
Quote:
So glad Harris is still here.
I mean that in a non sarcastic sense because he's not good.
Quote:
Yep the tank is on for sure.
Quote:
We ought to be proud of our boys. For ta tanking team, we lead the league in 1 goal games. You can't say that about Columbus SJ Anaheim Chicago Ottawa or any losing team.
You're richer than you think.....Scotiabank....or i guess RBC?
Quote:
Well great night for the tank I guess
You Sendin the Wolf?
Quote:
Dustin Wolf in net ... im gonna serve myself a double whisky ...
Quote:
Wolf of Red Mile
Quote:
Man... Habs are skating circles around Calgary. No results, but what else is new?
Quote:
Wolf looks like Captain America before he became Captain America.
Quote:
Wolf scrambling. Nice to see les boys making an opposing goalie work.
Quote:
This Wolf kid isn’t a bad goalie… but is he good enough to keep the Habs off the scoreboard?
Quote:
He's the wolf that guards the gates of hell.
Quote:
top line is so good, but man Wolf is having an amazing game
Quote:
Wolf has got horse shoes firmly lodged up his ass
Quote:
Pretty sure that will be Wolf 1st NHL shutout
Quote:
I like how many times so far did CBC mentioned how "small" of a goalie Wolf is. I looked it up and he is 183m which is almost 6'1" lol. Crazy how the goalie position has changed.
Quote:
Wolf has been the star of the game so far. The upshot of that is that our top line has made him work. Not the other lines, mind you.
Quote:
Wolf is a legit good goalie. Very impressed with him tonight
Quote:
Wolf is f***ing with Suzuki's MoJo. He could have 5 points in this one.
Quote:
Suzuki's going to be having nightmares about Wolf tonight
Quote:
This is one of our highest shooting games I can remember this season. Wolf is having himself a game.
Quote:
dustin wolf is a goddamn animal
Backlund on the PP
Quote:
That should be Anderson in the box
Quote:
What a ####ty penalty wtf
Quote:
Almost the worst PP in the league vs the worst PK.
Quote:
CC wake up
Quote:
Cole….bro.
Quote:
Why didn't Harris clear the puck?
Quote:
Harris absolutely sucks. So weak in his own zone and weak on the puck. Xhekaj gives him a pass and he can't clear.
Quote:
Has anyone else counted two f*** OFF plays so far.
Quote:
Nice tip, can\t blame Primeau on that.
Quote:
Harris has room to skate up and rip it.
He stops at the blueline, then takes a stride and makes a terrible f***ing pass.
Quote:
I'm not much of a Harris fan, I see him do that kind of thing a lot. Maybe he can learn and correct a lot of these mistakes but he doesn't seem to think the game fast enough
Quote:
They should have pressured Weegar instead of backing off and letting him walk about ten feet.
Quote:
Harris losing the puck in the corner causes that goal. He had control but got bodied.
Quote:
Pearson just lets him skate in with ZERO pressure... f***ing bum
Quote:
AX should’ve cleared the crease. I don’t now what he was doing there.
Quote:
I do like the aggressive PK myself. Make the team make passes fast and take your chances they won't be able to string a few good ones together.
Quote:
Calgary didn't wait at the blue line for the Habs PP, they came out and challenged them in the neutral zone
Backs #200 off the Faceoff
Quote:
Well that was fast.
Quote:
Pucks short and shifts deep.
Wait.
Quote:
Great start of the 2nd
Quote:
Hey guys just a heads up - the period has started
Quote:
that was a real juicy rebound Cayden!
Quote:
The terrible 2nd continues lol.
Quote:
That goal was a cluster-#### but really wonder why Matheson skates right past Backlund there
Quote:
Didnt waste a lot of time getting the dreaded 2nd period going
Quote:
Once they announced Backlund was at 199 career goals, you knew what was coming next.
Quote:
That was quick 2-0, bad rebound by Primeau
Quote:
Well... looking like a good night for the tank. Epic defensive coverage.
Quote:
wtf was that
Popsicle of Doom
Quote:
Pospisil from Raonic and Aliassime
Quote:
Calgary is tuuuuurrrrrasssshhh
f*** me.
Quote:
3-0 down. and they are still going to ruin the whole day and win. Calgary you worthless crap.
Quote:
And the score has just put the « sad » in Saddledome.
3-0 Flamingoes.
Quote:
Pospisil may be the second best Slovak forward in the NHL right now after Slaf. Could be fun to watch him on the RW with Slaf on the left at the WC.
Quote:
They surrounded the guy but didn't defend against him. What defense is that lol
Quote:
was likely already over at 2-0, possibly even 1-0, but at 3-0, there's zero chance the team comes back. Game over.
Quote:
Matheson is pure trash again
Quote:
Okay the Pro tankers are appeased can we please start f***ing scoring now.
Quote:
Hey, look more shots and no one in front.
I'm only slightly pissed because the Habs need to lose, but like that, once again is hockey 101 and you're not doing it.
That was nice.
Poor Primeau
Quote:
Losing 3-1 just grab the guy and beat the dog #### out of him. Why are you talking and pushing and shoving just go ahead and teach him a lesson.
Quote:
How is Pospisil still breathing?
Quote:
Man I'd be livid if this was an important game. I'm still hoping Xhekaj rips off popsicles head now that the game is pretty much out of reach.
Kadri on the PP too!
Quote:
I really hate Kadri. Always have.
Quote:
What the #### is the penalty?
Quote:
Kadri with the Neymar flop and roll lol. Still a rat
Quote:
kadri eternally a leaf
Quote:
ok so there's a power play that executes their play within 6 sec of winning the draw. take notes Habs PP.
Quote:
Kadri, why are you diving ?
Quote:
F*** Kadri !!
Quote:
brutal call and none on the other end
Quote:
That's a terrible call, and it pays immediate dividends.
Quote:
Wow consistent reffing. What league is this?
Quote:
I know this was a pp goal but Matheson is seemingly out there every time a goal is scored against us. Key word “seemingly”.
Quote:
Huberdeau's finding his groove.
Quote:
he should not be on the pk...his gap to the goalie is to much
Quote:
I knew that was gonna be a goal as soon as I saw Ghule up by the left point when he shoukdve been down low on the right side
Quote:
Also CGY PP scored twice. Habs PP was underwhelming and didn't score.
Quote:
Calgary D man just held RHP exactly the same way struble did earlier.
Quote:
Have to give Conroy credit for trading Toffoli and getting Sharangovich back in the deal
Mirror Mirror
Quote:
So the question was asked why Xhekaj never cleared the front of the net on the other PP. Well there is what happens when the D stay in front of the net. Guy comes in and has that whole empty side of the net to put a puck in.
A man short so against some teams it is damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Quote:
This team stinks like butt poop
Quote:
Primeau with juicy rebounds tonight
Quote:
let me guess. Matheson was on the ice again.
Quote:
#### dudes
Quote:
I think Primeau, despite getting lit up, has pretty good body language still. Good to see.
Quote:
Sorry this game was ####ing painful to watch.
Quote:
Nice goal actually. We would have whiffed on the shot or miss the net
Quote:
If this team could ever figure out how to get a puck out of their zone #### like this wouldn't happen.
Quote:
Primeau's rebound control is hot garbage.
Quote:
Move your feet Slaf. Guys just standing around in the D zone.
Where's that fire and energy when he first got put up on line 1.
Quote:
Guhle, Slaf and can't see the other standing there doing f*** all.
Quote:
Lol poor primeau great save but the guys right there
At least we can score a couple freebies now
Quote:
we cant compete with a goalie who cant control rebounds
Quote:
Not to pile on Matheson but he was completely lost out there on that 5th Flames goal. Just standing there looking around with his thumb up his ass.
Quote:
the silver lining of this game is calgary gets closer to stealing vegas’ wildcard spot
Quote:
Unbelievable!!
I mean, seriously?? 4 goals went to Primeau's net, and not a single defensive play did Mike Matheson do to stop those from coming?
My gosh!! The last one was horrible! All did Matheson do was stand the #### out there and let Miromanov score!

For starters, I hate the Habs, so watching them lose is a joy in and of itself.
Wolf was outstanding. His lateral movement is incredible and he just sees the puck through traffic. Really impressive.
Kylington had himself a GAME!
I thought Kuzmenko had lots of jump. I think we're just barely starting to see his potential.
And...Pachal. I'm starting to think that guy just needs some more minutes to play himself into a groove. He made a few mistakes, but he also made some pretty astute plays. I think theres more there than currently meets the eye.
The new guys seem to be fitting in well. If anything, Sharanunspellableovich needs to remember his strength. Dont keep that puck on your stick too long. Your power is your release. So release.

Nobody is saying he's perfect, but 2 goalposts in a game seems like a tough thing to hold against him. The guy has stopped 67/70 shots in his (Colorado third period) and 7th and 8th NHL games, personally I'm impressed and ready for the Flames to give him the net for a while now, not 2-3 years.

Reason: Checked goalpost stats and teams average less than one a game, though that seems very low to me
It’s all pointless Cecil. What matters is where you find the joy. We have picks and space and aren’t going to Full out tank. I prefer a culture that fights vs rolls over.
Joy? Joy! Sports is about never ending crushing defeat. We could be 1st overall chasing a President’s Trophy and I’d be cheering for losses. The bitter taste of defeat is the only taste I know.
Wolf is better then he played tonight. The more starts he gets in a row the better he plays. This kid is the real deal, we have enjoyed watching him play with the Wranglers since they got here.
