Nuclear meltdown coming up the Canucks post game show. Awesome way to end the game with a breakaway goal.

Completely different standard of officiating between this series and the Flames. Ours is a joke.

Agreed, Perron would make my blood boil rn if I was a canucks supporter.

But Markstrom is bailing their asses out and they were due to have it catch up with them. Can't simply show up to the dance as the baby faced pimply kid and cruise past the reigning champs.. Playoff lessons must be learned.

Coach Berube must feel good with the goalie switch. Allen should start again tomorrow evening.

I dunno, players like Perron appeal to me. We have one of our own after all.

Boy, I bet the Canucks are really happy they gave up a top prospect to rent Tyler Toffoli, huh?

Forgot he was on the team until I read your post. I do not recall hearing his name last night. And I was on the 'acquire Toffoli' bandwagon as much as anyone (for the Flames)

He's been out since game 1 of the qualifiers.

IMO, confidence is everything. When individuals are feeling it, they look like different players. When teams are feeling it, they can beat anyone.

There have been 3 major factors dictating this series IMO...

1) the Blues, along with the other bye teams, weren't yet up to speed, and the play-in teams had an initial advantage (which is now gone)

2) the Canucks have never trailed in the series (38 seconds not withstanding)

3) the Nucks are a young team with no expectations, and are playing with house money (especially when they're playing the champs)

Those 3 factors have allowed the Canucks to play their game with confidence and without fear. And have given them the feeling that they can actually win this. And that confidence has them playing their best.

But now the Blues have their first win under their belts. They are going to be a much better team next game. If they get the early lead, I wouldn't be surprised to see them roll over the Nucks in game 4.

And if they tie the series up, those advantages that the Nucks have had will be gone.

Nonetheless, kudos to the Nucks for playing as well as they have so far. The similarities to the 2015 Flames are pretty substantial, IMO.

Pettersson: 9 pts, 7 on the PP
Hughes:.... 9 pts, 6 on the PP
Miller:....... 7 pts, 6 on the PP
Boeser:..... 7 pts, 5 on the PP

The PP has been on fire, and a great PP combined with a hot goalie can take you a long way in the playoffs. However, if the PP cools off, the Nucks are in big trouble.

Couldn't stand him as a player but I agree - he's been doing good on the broadcasts. His insights on the game have been a nice addition.

Unless we won the cup, trade is always going to be looked upon poorly if Toffoli doesn't get re-signed.

Won't be shocked if the Blues rattle off 4 straight now, but even then I am pretty happy with this all things considered.

I'd be very shocked if that happened. Every game has been close and the Canucks have played very well.

I see the Canucks winning this in 7, not a fan of the club but they have the best team in Canada in my opinion.

Which is why I am damn happy with how this has gone, but I also need to be realistic, if only somewhat optimistic.

I hated the Canucks a lot before, but that was because of the personalities they had on the team like Burrows, Kesler, etc. but the current roster has nobody like that anymore, so nothing to hate for me.
