On one hand I'm glad to not be playing the oil or nucks on opening day, with the inevitable loss.
However, it's also sad to be playing the avs that kicked this team's teeth in a few months back, and who are actually better now.
I hope they win but am expecting a 5-2 loss.

I have a good feeling about this one, you know the Flames players have to want it BAD after that playoff round vs the Avs they had to think about all summer.

I knew it was bad not that horrid. That's why I'm fully expecting us to lose. I do however remember that game in 2001 against the Oilers I believe. A Big 1-0 win with Turek pitching the shutout.

Without looking it up was that 1994 opening night win against the Islanders? I wanna say 4-3 win or somewhere along those lines.
I remember waiting patiently to watch the highlights on sports desk lol. Kids these days don't know the anguish of cheering for a hockey team while living in a different city pre Internet!
