I do but I don't write about them much. The majority of my job is completely detached from reporting.
Edit: sorry, his post before I saw what MRCboicgy said. Let's move on!

The guys with “#### you money” have to sit this one out, though. We can’t all get shown up again by the rich academics who just work for their love of higher education.

Pretty lucky not to be down by a couple goals right now imo.
Markstrom has been good. Huberdeau remains unable to do anything when checked. Lucic and Lewis are still bad at hockey. Ruzicka made some plays, for tank reasons he should probably go back to the press box.

Weegar and Tanev are money.

I don’t think any are a real liability. Hanifin’s defensive play is fine - he just plays a lot of minutes and against top opponents so sometimes things happen.

My thoughts: He's been quietly solid defensively, and has had good jump offensively with some solid playmaking instincts. Nice speed as well. Gets outmuscled a little too often.

A huge upgrade over stone he can move the puck and skate.

The best players this season have been the youngest. So, Sutter sitting young players and playing old players is detached from what is going on in the games. Duehr scores and then is healthy scratched. Lucic hasn’t scored since… who even knows? He doesn’t even skate hard anymore.
You’d have a tough time looking reasonable trying to defend Sutters personnel selections this season.

He’s not effective when time and space is taken away from him. If the pass he wants isn’t there, he forces something. Good example of that when he turned it over towards the end of the period.
He has been unable to create any space for himself and so we’re left with blaming the players around him.

Lol, Flames with 70 posts and crossbars this season, that’s more than a PPG they’re leaving on the table. New NHL record for losses while massively outshooting the opponent as well

The shooting thing is a red herring though. Shots don’t really matter that much in todays NHL when they’re non-threatening perimeter lobs. I don’t look at this team and think they’ve had a bunch of bad luck, basically. It’s mostly been under preparing for weaker opponents and poor efforts on a frequent basis.

I don’t mind sitting kids every now and then to give them some rest and have them watch the game. But the loyalty to Lucic as the guy not rotating in and out is just odd. Lewis and Ritchie bring other elements than the kids, so that’s fine. My only thought is that Sutter keeps expecting a brawl to break out and he wants Lucic just for that. But I can’t remember the last fight ina Flames game.

Then play him with someone who can back the defence in with speed, like Dube. Add a centre like Lindholm who can one-time it, and you’ve got yourself a genuine first line.

Honestly I think Lucic would have more energy if he was platooned with someone else and just played every other game

He’s open a lot. It’s been noted on many a game thread.
Ineffective with no time or space? Well, that’s every hockey player. It was the complaint with Gaudreau. He’s not a burner, so he’s not outskating anyone. But I seem him in good open spots all the time and his linemates (Kadri) don’t get the puck to him.
The play on his line should be centre gaining the zone, passing to him and looking for an open spot because he will find them, almost guaranteed. We’ve seen his passing.

I don’t why why Duehr counts as a young player. He’s older than Pelletier, Ruzicka, and Dube, and anywhere from a few months to a year younger than Andersson, Mangiapane, Hanifin, and Gilbert.
Nobody seems to complain about the youth issue when Gilbert sits.

I wouldn’t mind seeing that.
Which doesn’t mean I’m letting Huberdeau off the hook for how ineffective he has been.
