I think Darryl is trolling Tre. When Tre recalled Phillips, Darryl did everything he could to minimize his chance and to alienate him to ensure that he would not re-sign with the team. Now, under pressure to mix up the lines, he made the worst line combinations he could think of and benched the only two players who were giving the team any energy and speed. Looks like he’s showing Tre who’s boss. No GM will dare to pressure him again.

Yeah these lines make no sense.

Darryl doesn't have a clue. His coaching is bordering on senile.

Hopefully the players can overcome it.

…and the whole team with him. Why don’t Lucic’s incessant errors and inability to keep up get him benched?

It’s like he took offence to Huberdeau saying he’d make Lindholm a 50 goal scorer and gave them 10 games to click lol

We could all learn something from Vegas on how to market a team.
Except Vegas has well Vegas to market on top of having a team. 17th Ave is no "The Strip ".

Vegas can market around the world class experience. Hit the Strip, see a show , get a meal see the knights, then continue to hit the Strip.

Has there been any evidence to the contrary this season?

He did. Prior to September 2022.

Everything since makes him look like he's been lobotomized.

He does exactly as instructed. He gains the red line, dumps it in, helps regain control, cycles it to the point for a shot by his defenceman into traffic.

He does what he’s told to do.

Got the puck once so far, given to him in a bad spot on the boards and he managed to keep the play alive.

Can’t do much if the puck never gets to you.
