All I can get

When does Ruzicka sign and for how much?
I'm wondering if this goes down to the wire in the same manner past Mangiapane negotiations happened.
I'm guessing his ask is around a million, with Treliving holding firm at $850,000 - $900,000 tops?
Short term, i.e. two years?
I have no doubt Ruzicka signs, as he doesn't have much leverage.
His ELC was $801,666 cap hit per year, $850,000 with signing bonuses.

I'm guessing it has more to do with how busy Treliving's summer is than any disagreement.
Probably agreed in principal, and the GM told the agent just give me ten days and then we'll get the paper done.

I think the NHL salary will be fairly straight forward and, if they are hung up on anything, it's whether that's a one way contract or at least a reasonable bump in minors salary.

If I were him I would try to construct a contract that makes it easy as possible to make the club.
1 year deal with a low NHL salary and higher AHL salary.

Still quite a few RFAs unsigned around the league, so this seems normal. I expect he signs within the next 2 weeks.
If Ruzicka was smart, he would take a short term, low salary two-way deal, with a high AHL salary. Give himself a lower cap hit than the players that he will be competing with for a spot so that if it comes down to splitting hairs, they will take the lower cap hit. Make it easier to stay in the NHL for a whole season, then he has more leverage to negotiate next season.

I could see this one being drawn out for a little while.

I think he showed enough to warrant a 1-way. Something like 2yrs @ $900k would be fair.

Why?
Just a gut feeling, or inside info from someone in the know?

Well that would be dumb on his part.
He cannot miss a single day of camp.
He needs to be taking the long view here.

I guess one part of having the Wranglers in town....his season will be a yo-yo. Keep that cap low.

I think it would follow the Mangiapane example in 2019. Mangiapane signed for $715k on Sep 15, 2019. I see Ruzicka signing for something between $750-900k within 2 weeks.

Maybe something like $800,000 NHL, $80,000 AHL, $300,000 guarantee. That would give the team a real incentive to keep him up at least part of the year, since they would want him to earn that guaranteed money.

Would that not just be 800K in the NHL and 300K in the minors?
Im guessing he wants a 1 way deal....even at league min.

No, this is a different thing. Several players around the league have had contracts structured this way. You get your $300,000 no matter what happens, but you don't go over that amount until you have spent a sufficient number of games in the NHL to earn more. With these particular numbers, Ruzicka would earn:
• $300,000 if he spent the entire year in the AHL
• $300,000 if he played up to 25 NHL games (assuming for convenience that he's up for an average number of days per game played)
• More than $300,000 if he played more than 25 NHL games
• The full $800,000 if he spent the entire season with the Flames.
It's then in the club's financial interest to let him have at least a large cup of coffee with the parent team.

That's true, but having a one-way or two-way deal won't affect that one way or the other.
I doubt the Flames want to get stuck paying an NHL salary to a player who doesn't make the team and also doesn't get claimed on waivers. A two-way deal, at this point, is basically insurance against that chance.

After what he showed last season, surely gets claimed by one of the lower teams
