inevitable. After the ref didn't give Palace's third goal, you just knew they'd turn it around.

Bournemouth might struggle this season.

Southampton went back to back years with 9-0 losses and stayed up. Maybe it's just the south coast thing to stay up.

Bournemouth actually didn't play poorly in any way. They were just completely overpowered.

9 goals and Salah didn't even get on the scoresheet.

He reminds me of Brazilian Ronaldo in that sense.

It doesn’t change what I said.

Palace have proved to be a thorn in the top sides. And every time they prove to be so, there is great surprise all round.

But yeah, I may have jinxed them today.

Furthermore I would like to reiterate that FuboTV is steaming hot fataing garbage.

The EPL should really make sure that when they sell their rights to a service that their product is going to be broadcast in some sort of acceptable manner on that service.

Like is Fubo run by some clown out of his basement? This is brutal. 720 hasnt been acceptable in something like a decade.

Haaland might really be the prototype for traditional striker.

His reaction and movements on to balls played into the box is impeccable

And the size, speed, and overall skill to take advantage of it

United are close to getting Antony from Ajax for around €100m including add-ons.

it just amazes me that a club of this size can be run so poorly. Ajax wanted €80m when United were first interested in late June / early July, which was seen as too expensive by United (and I agree actually). But instead of either paying that or looking for an alternative, they dither around for weeks and then panic in late August, when Ajax has no interest in selling any more and can just crank up the price to an obscene amount that makes no sense whatsoever, knowing that United are desperate enough to go through with it. So United are paying up to €20m more for the pleasure of getting the player weeks later ... it's genuinely depressing and infuriating how this club operates.

Is he actually worth these amounts? I haven’t really watched him, so that’s a genuine question, but it’s more money than a lot of signings over the past year or so.

I have to agree. Antony is a € 50 m player at best. 60m max.
We are in a luxury position. We don't need to sell.
A hundred million euro... that's robbery, and I like it.

Also, Antony's replacement for todays game against FC Utrecht, Steven Berghuis, with a goal and an assist in a 0-2 win.

he's a great player and a really good fit, since United desperately needed a left-footed winger (all the others are right-footed) and someone who can nail down that spot on the right side. Ten Hag also absolutely loves him.

But no, he's not worth those amounts in my opinion. He and Raphinha are battling it out for one winger spot on the Brazilian NT, and Barcelona have paid €58m for him this summer ... that's more in line with what I think Antony should be worth. He's quite a bit younger (Raphinha is 25, Antony is 22), but still, I found the €80m that Ajax initially wanted to be too expensive. In hindsight, I'd have loved that deal lol.

I wonder if a piece of the reason to pay now is the fixtures coming up for teams in Europe and the PL now. You’ve got have players to rotate because you’re playing twice a week for ~10 weeks through to the World Cup. Maybe that’s doable and fine, but a couple injuries and things are thin pretty fast. Better to pay, bring players in who you want for your system than to not have enough useful players when things get more difficult. Chelsea throwing cash at Fofana makes me think that also. They do need a player like that, but are way over paying for him.

This is the first time I’ve seen the green and white Newcastle kits and it’s pretty weird. Nothing like a complete sell-out to the house of Saud.

That was so bizarre... palace should have been up 3-0 for sure. Ball looked like it had been clearly released. Maybe it just feels that way but the small clubs never seem to get those kinds of breaks against the big clubs

Nottingham Forest played well going forward, but the defence seemed somewhat porous. Dean Henderson was good though, and stopped another penalty. I think if they can continue to play like that, Forest probably stays up.
