Bing copying Google search results?
Sure looks like it:
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/...le-search.html
I'm not sure how Microsoft can claim that they don't use google results, at least in part, after evidence like that.

I occasionally go to Bing to look at the homepage image and see if it's interesting...but otherwise, yeah, no thanks.

They only involvement I have ever had with Bing is trying to get whatever software it's associated with off my computer.
Why bother trying to compete with an industry standard? Just let it die already.

Because even a fraction of a percentage of the search market share is still worth millions of dollars.

I am usually torn when I first open IE on a newly installed machine if I should change the homepage on IE from msn.com or if I should change the search default, remove Bing as an option and prevent programs from changing my search preferences.

Since they changed the format about a year or so ago, it is almost unreadable. Every story is completely disjointed.
All you get are silly questions like, "if you want to know the answer to ?" click on this link and when you go there, you get another stupid question.
Hate it, it should die.

I love Google and all, but the reeks of desperation to me. I remember when Google didn't care what the rest of the industry was doing and focused on making awesome products. This makes me think they are all out of awesome and need to resort to slagging the competition.
If you do some research into this, you will discover that the whole accusation is sort of sketchy. You have to have the Bing toolbar installed and manually opt-in to their program that uses click-stream data from anywhere the browser goes to. Google wants average Joe to believe that MS is just using Google's search algorithm's, which isn't true at all.
I don't believe for a second that MS is completely innocent here, but I think Google is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill in an attempt to deflect some of the bad press they have been receiving lately.

If MS had Google's algorithms, then Bing would be good! Microsoft is just copying the answers without knowing the reasoning.
