Brodie is gaining something that goes well with his playing style. POISE. Something that Smith has an abundance of, but with more upside.

I'm lovin' what i'm seeing so far from Bro-D

People are raving about Wideman, but one of the reasons Wideman looks so good is the play of Brodie.

What a great pairing so far, instant chemistry and you know it is only going to get better with more time together.

Best pairing we've seen for years and they will be together for many years to come.

Top four of:

Bouwmeester - Giordano
Wideman - Brodie

is looking VERY solid. Who wouldda thunk it!

I really like how Brodie breaks the puck out. He doesn't make stupid plays like Butler. He is effective of taking the puck and moving the play forward. Not to mention he is great in the offensive zone too. Brodie has improved every year , and by good margins too. Hope he can keep it up.

Yeah I really like Brodie, moves te pick well, good wheels, and is pretty physical and strong for being kind of undersized. Really underrated as a good young defenseman in this league.

Still believe he'll be our best defencemen in 5 years probably even closer to 3 years.

He's a very smart player.

He also caused Bobrovsky to get caught out of position.

Folks, I think we're witnessing the emergence of TJ Brodie. I mean, we saw it last year and the start of this year, but we're now seeing Hartley forcing Brodie into taking that next step.

I'm seeing Brodie out there against Datsyuk and Zetterberg, playing huge minutes, and looking excellent in that role. I don't like to speculate, but is Hartley playing Brodie in a top-2 role to see if he could potentially fill in if Bouwmeester is moved? Food for thought. I could be wrong.

Regardless, Brodie is one of the few fun players to watch on this team.

He is good. He's steadily improved for 2-3 years now. He will be our top pairing puck-moving d-man soon (once J-Bo is shipped out). This is how you develop a prospect.

I would say Brodie has been the best Flame this year so far. Maybe one sub par game so far and he wasn't even total suckage in it. Consistent and improving steadily.

At the beginning of the year I predicted that people would start to talk about him as the Flames' best defenseman by the end of the year.

Well, I am pretty much ready to call him our best d-man now

He is very impressive for his age but Bouw is our best defenseman.

Brodie is doing everything needed of a young guy but still has trouble with top level talent and Wodeman as a partner.

If it wasn't for the play of Bouwmeester, Brodie would be our top defenceman. The kids has taken great strides in the past few years and it's only going to get better. I suspect BBF is very proud of how he's doing.

Giorando is kind of jumping on the grenade for all the other D-men to look better. Last year it was Butler. The Flames don't have a guy good enough to pair with J-Bo on the top pairing so Giordano is the sacrifice this year, and he has looked terrible. Butler has looked much better since being downgraded

Brodie is probably the next sacrifice to play with Bouwmeester. Hopefully he can handle it

Lock him up, this guy is going to be a main cog for the Flames for a long time. His first read out of his zone is usually right on, his skating and read and react skills are tremendous.

I didn't watch the game last night. Was Brodie playing with Bouwmeester again? How did he look on the top pairing? I thought he looked OK against LA the other night, but did look to be out of his element at times.
