I became a fan of Charles Bradley soon after becoming of fan of Sharon Jones as they were both on the same label (Daptone Records). I loved their old-school R&B sound -- if one wasn't familiar with their music, one could mistake their songs as being released on Motown or Stax. Daptone and soul music has lost two giants within the last 10 months.

I was disappointed when he cancelled his show here earlier in the year. Now I understand why. Sad to hear. A talent like that being discovered late in life is quite a story.

I picked up the No Time for Dreaming album after hearing The World (Is Going Up In Flames).

I had no idea until today it was from 2011. I assumed it was from the 70s.
