One more game than I thought, and still not convinced we don't see worse on a nightly basis, but I don't mind when the NHL goes hard on these types of things.

Agree with the desire to see consistency with in these calls, names on the back of both jerseys played a huge role in this incident even getting a review.

Personally I don't believe this elbow is egregious enough to warrant two games. I've seen the replay and it just doesn't look like the monster elbow the media is making it out to be.

That said, I do think he meant to take a swing, and with his reputation around the league thus far I can at least rationalize the result.

The Flames need Tkachuk in the lineup. Hopefully he learns from this and doesn't put himself in a situation like this again.

Agreed. But we as fans are too. If the Wild break Lance Bouma's hand by slash, we are not happy - but no where near as pissed as when it's on Gaudreau.

It is what it is.

Thought it would be a fine since it was his first time as an offender, 1 game max.. don't agree with the decision but that's the NHL for you. Extremely inconsistent.

With 12 points in his last 9 even though he's a centre i'm calling up Jankowski

It'd be nice if they made the "right call" more often and not just when it's our ####ing player.

The NHL is an inconsistent piece of #### when it comes to doling out justice and it's utterly pathetic.

Fixed your post. I don't believe for a minute if it was one of the players playing for the leagues golden boys 3 hours north of here that delivered that hit that they would've gotten 2 games!

I only get angry when the league is too lenient. When they make the right decision I find it hard to be upset.

The fact the flames are on the receiving end of proper punishment sucks but I think they made the right call.

This league does not take hits to the head lightly.
But in other instances it is okay to break someones finger, with a violent slash to the hand?

The league and some ^people needs to get their collective heads out of their lower orifices.

Deserved one game only. Doughty was being a prick last time they played too.

No better time to call up Janko. Is there anyone more deserving? I sure don't think so.
Slide Bennett to the wing foe two games and let Janko center Lazar and Bouma.

Where is the announcement of best supporting actor to Doughty to accompany the suspension to Tkachuk? Doughty played 28 mins in the game last night - he was really hurt.

Stop moving Bennett to the wing, the Flames aren't going to do it for two games. Call up Jankowski, put him on the left side with Backlund and Frolik, upset the lines as little as possible. Just a preview of next season anyways.

As for the suspension? meh.. you're only giving Tkachuk more time to light a bigger fire in his belly. Saturday return in his home of St. Louis? He might score 10 goals.

Rather slide Bennett to Tkachuks spot and give Lazar a spin at C or call up Jankowski and keep Freddie scratched.

Anyone want to hazard a guess what lineup looks like with both Ferland and Tkachuk out ? Will Hathaway be recalled?

Since it's only temporary, I'd consider putting Bennett up with Backlund and Frolik, and have Freddie centre the 4th line.

That might be the spark Bennett needs.

We're already speculating more than CaptainCrunch after a Star Wars trailer.

Hypocritical to give him that when there are so many similar and much more dirty plays not even called. Let the NHL do whatever they want. Seems to me the Flames do well when they stand together against the rest. I will bet there is a similar instance tonight with no discipline at all. That's the way it is.
