I think those defensive pairings make a lot of sense.

It isn't yikes, this isn't news either. What he brings is something this team is lacking. Forbort is here to cover for him. He is a 3rd pairing guy on our team and can only help the PP. Wait and see what he does before we jump to this conclusion. When not playing the other teams top guys all the time with Keith, I am sure he will be fine in sheltered minutes but getting ozone starts more often then not.

Wow, Giordano's back?! That's big news.
I am curious why they aren't sticking with Bennett centering the 3rd line though.
Both teams will have their acquisitions in the line up I imagine, hope the flames start they did last game, but don't let the bruins creep back this time.

I agree. He's never come back from injury at less than 100% effectiveness. My comment was more in general.
The first clips of him skating were meant to make everyone happy and I just thought "that's it? I skate like that."

Oh don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to seeing his offensive abilities and PP1 mins!
I sure as heck hope Forbort can cover for him then. Good point about the 3rd pairing mins. I'm just saying, defending is one of the major areas this team generally sucks at..

Well there's a surprise, Bennett moved back the wing and the 4th line despite playing well and engaged at centre. Kid just cant get a break.

What the hell?
Why break up the third line just as there was some real chemistry and production coming from Lucic-Bennett-Dube? The last three games you were getting playoff Bennett, and all it took was moving to center and playing with a talent like Dube.
Ryan on the fourth would have been fine, especially now that their is no roster limit and they could have put Czarnik on his wing without consequence.
This is more baffling and disappointing than anything that happened yesterday.

Ya, not a big fan of Bennett being demoted after playing so well on the 3rd line.
Could we see this instead in the bottom 6?
Lucic - Bennett - Ryan
Dube - Jankowski - Reider
and swap out Ryan and Dube if Jankowski struggles on faceoffs and such.
I still like Dube with Bennett and Lucic better than Ryan, so not sure how do fix that problem, I guess have Ryan on the 4th line and hope Benny can just run with it for the rest of the season. That is a nice problem to have.

This should be over quickly. A statement game from the Bruins after getting humiliated in Vancouver. The Flames fan in me is hoping for an entertaining game #1 and a Flames win . Common sense suggests a beating in the making

Because Ward. Seriously, the biggest need this offseason by far is a legit head coach. I think this roster could do some real damage as is if they actually had a decent coach.

Sure, though Lucic-Ryan Dube was also a great line. I suspect Ward is wanting to go to the most familiar forward lines to start because of the upheaval on D.

Ryan is a better bet at 3rd line center and playing more minutes against a top tier team.
Has been since he got here.

Having Bennett on Janko's LW is a joke.
If you insist on Ryan with Lucic/Dube then the 4th line should be obvious:
Jankowski - Bennett - Czarnik

Or maybe simply switch Luc with Bennett.
No logically explanation for playing him above Bennett.

yup, not sure Czarnik is above Rinaldo and Reider though.

Lucic plays well with both Dube and Ryan, and he has now played there a lot. That seems pretty logical to me.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Mangiapane-Backlund-Tkachuk
Bennett-Ryan-Dube
Lucic-Jankowski-Rieder
would have been just fine for tonight. Not sure why the 3rd line needed a juggle in the first place

I just REALLY hope Gio hasn't rushed himself back into the lineup. It's great that he's playing, but I'm a little worried he might re-injure himself. That would be devastating.
