Good to see the top line on for a couple, and Monahan with a goal and assist. Monahan’s goal was not that pretty and a little lucky, but you never know what will start a hot streak. And on Gaudreau’s goal they whipped it around pretty good for Johnny’s shot.
Yeah trying to trade Brodie for Barrie while simultaneously looking to extend Hamonic is a damn travesty if true.
I sincerely hope that isn't the GMs current read on those two respective players or his intention for the defense going forward.
A lot has to do with trade value, what you are getting back, as well as what you expect the extension to look like for either player. Also how you see Valimaki, Kylington, Hanifin and now maybe Yelesin going forward.

To be fair, while I am no Hamonic fan boy, Hanifin missed the Defending 101 class. It’s like he was never taught the basics. His backward skating is bad for such a great skater, his positioning is mind blowing and he has no clue how to angle out an attacking forward. He points his skates to the puck and starts chasing... that’s why he always gets beat or ends up away from the play.
If anyone could fix this it’s Huska. Hopefully.
I will 100% agree that he has played much better without Hammer though, he needs to be paired with a two way player.

Hamonic is a 3rd line paring at best. Not re-singing him, and losing him for nothing would at least be addition by subtraction.
I cant believe theyre about to trade our most talented player….in my opinion very much mismanaged this season by blas….for what?? better be a 1 round pick…. ..AA is the kind of player we should keep, young and very talented…..and get rid of the players that dont have any future in the team like daley,nielsen, abby, enh, glendening, green..I get the idea of trading…but not at all cost. really think we will be at the loosing end trading AA. if were lucky we will get someone as talented as him…so whats the point???
