That aside, one might think a ‘generational player’ ought to be better than 7th in the league at the one thing he does best. It certainly isn't his defensive prowess, physical play, ‘clutch’ quality or intangibles that earned him that label.

36 points in 27 games is actually McDavid's best start to a season thus far.
In 16/17 he had 34 points and 17/18 he had 32.

Yes, he struggles putting up the big points until the games become meaningless

That's it? From the supposed best player in the world?
That's pretty underwhelming, no?

Except he also got hot down the stretch in 16/17 when they made the playoffs so that nugget of wisdom doesn't really make any sense.

Only if points at the beginning of the season count more than those at the end.

McDavid appears to have no ability to make mediocre players better, which is a problem for the Oilers. If he had the ability to turn Caggulia into a 55 point guy and Ty Rattie into a 50 point guy the Oilers would be in a much better position. But he needs to play with the only other good players on the team in order to succeed.
All the generational players I remember had that ability to Polish a turd like Caggulia and make it shine.

Hope you guys enjoy the handicap on Sunday, Flames on a back to back without their shutdown center and best defender. What’s the excuse in a loss? Oh right, you just disappear, change your name to chicken ####

For someone who made many claims over the last couple years you disappear quite a bit, why is that?
I’m sure after the loss tonight to the Wild you will be gone like the wind!

Everything is going to be okay. It's not really necessary to attack Oil Stain and not really the spirit of the thread.

Lucic is also a decent net front player on the power play. I’d prefer the Oilers go with there most skilled attackers on the top power play, but Lucic has value on the power play, and it’s also the case that his point total will benefit from power play time.
|
Yes, please, let's see more of Lucic on the Edmonton PP.

He's not wrong you know. I don't mind your posting, actually I think you contribute to this forum, but you do go from banging drums during the off-season to disappear once the losing starts. You show up from nowhere now when the Oilers are in a good patch, fine, but will you stay on once they fall back down? Some consistency would be nice.

Yes, oil stain please post a schedule of what hours a day you will be on this forum. You also will need to sign in and out each time you visit and you must post a basic synopsis of what you will be arguing about for the duration of your visit.
