Unless he's sick or injured I would have left him in and kept Hathaway out.

Peters is bringing players in and out of the line-up based on merit!

He's been good on the PK, but that's about it. I'm a huge Frolik fan, but he's been pretty invisible so far this year. He has more to give...at least I think he does.
Don't forget. Fittest Flame in camp. He should be all over the ice with his conditioning.

I'm alright with giving Frolik the day off. It's not like he's played badly but it's not like the game hinges on him playing. Still think he's much better than Hathaway, though.

He’s also taken some lazy stick-in-feet penalties.
I have no doubt Frolik will push back, and be better for it. He’s a true professional.

And I think that's the reason right there.
Peters teams are always low on penalty totals and he took two stick in feet calls last game

Wow ... interesting to see Frolik sit. Not saying his play has warranted otherwise but it’s a bold move to sit a veteran this early. I’m assuming Dube will be sat soon for the usual “take a step back to see the game from above” rookie treatment but who knows.
I’m sure the Flames will be very focused on starting well after coming out so flat last game. Hopefully they make this road trip a successful one!

Wow, Peter's is quick. Doesn't matter if your a vet or not; If he doesn't see enough someone else will play! That said could be banged up guys, or injuries too. Good to see that coaches have higher expectations across the board!

Agreed.
This is the Coach tapping Frolik on the shoulder and saying:
"Hey man, the season has started. Did you miss it?"

I also like Peters' willingness to swap guys in and out. I think having depth has allowed him to use it not necessarily as a punishment for poor play, but as a way to get different looks for different opponents and keep players fresh and hungry.
It wouldn't surprise me if this trait was one if the main reasons Treliving brought him in.

Too much money still invested in Frolik for him to fade out so I sincerely hope this is his reaction. Encouraged by the fact that the guy is still in such great shape.
Last thing this team needs is another buyout this summer.

This is exactly why depth is important.
Players don't sit solely because of punishment. They sit because there's a hungry guy in the pressbox who might do a better job in the next game. It allows a coach to actually find the elusive 'chemistry', instead of simply lining up players based on respective skill. I love it!

For better or worse, Peters is the boss. He is the leader and he is in control. I would rather have Frolik in for Hathaway, but Frolik should take this as a shot across the bow and give it everything he can. (I'm sure he will. Frolik wouldn't have his fitness results if he was lazy.) I guess if players don't want to sit they better play hard because Peters will sit them if they don't.
So far:
-Ryan demoted
-Dube moved to centre
-Frolik demoted then sat
-Jankowski sat
-Bennett promoted
-Czarnik promoted
-Prout sat and replaced with Andersson
-bottom two defence pairings changed up to have veteran with rookie and rookie with veteran (if you can call Hanifin a veteran, which I would because of GP)
Am I missing anything?
We asked for a general and if being a general means making tough, leadership decisions, I think we have a general.
