Oilers score the go ahead powerplay goal when they should have been killing a penalty.

McDavid carries this team harder than LeBron carried the Cavs to the finals last season

Wonder what the Rangers are thinking, going rebuilding team with rookie coach.

That was a horrible way to start the day

Well, the Oilers need to win the occasional game here and there otherwise they may actually look at getting rid of Chia and McLellan. I think most will agree that keeping the status quo is best.

That’s a really good point. The dream of 0-82 was, although technically possible coming in, not going to happen.

I thought Brady Tkachuk was in the NCAA for this season? or am I thinking of the wrong player and he wasn't planning to go to college before becoming an NHLer? He seems to be playing pretty well. He is a +3 today and has an assist.

Man the Rangers are bad. But so are the Oilers. The Flames, as bad as they were last game, would have crushed either one.

That was two bottom five teams battling it out and the Coil were extremely lucky to get the two points.

Being as precisely zero (0) goals have been scored by the Oil without him getting a point so far this season, I’m surprised they don’t push that higher.

How long until he burns out or gets injured?

The only Flames player to have more than 24 minutes played in a game is Gio, who’s done it twice in four games. None of the forwards. If/when McDavid slumps or gets injured that team is beyond screwed.

Especially as the season goes on. All the teams know the depth situation there and some players will make sure they give a little extra when given the chance.

To add on to those minutes, everybody finishes their checks on McDavid when they can catch him. It's not like they are equivalent minutes to any other player; he has to battle through more.

He's not the first star to eat up those kinds of minutes, but it certainly exposes him to more opportunities to get hurt or simply peter out.

He missed last year's draft eligibility by a day, so he played last season in the NCAA. There was some talk about him going back for another season, but that was likely just a tactic to ensure the Sens wouldn't scrimp on the bonus money.

I don’t understand why they use him on the PK. He’s not good at faceoffs and his defensive zone awareness is average at best. He has blazing speed which I guess in theory increases the odds for a short handed goal, but he had all of one last year.

The Bruins took over in the second period scoring three goals, it is now 4-0 Boston after forty minutes. Bergeron with two assists in that period.
