I don't think we need to get too deep into what McDavid is wearing to Halloween parties as it seems a little overboard critiquing his costume. It's not his fault he got drafted by the worst organization in professional sports so let him have at least a little fun when possible.

He's been aaaaawwwful this year. To be fair though, this 6 game sample is far below his career averages so I'd expect it to rebound.
Having said that, away from mcdavid he's no $8.5M player. Not even close. At that tag you'd need to carry a successful line by yourself. He cannot do that.
If I was McLellan I'd put scrubs like Rattie and Cagiula on Mcdavid's wings and is the few NHL caliber forwards with Draisaitl to at least somewhat balance the attack. When the first line isn't on the ice the oilers they have scored 1 goal in 6 games and allowed 8.
Oilers are 58% goals for with both of them on the ice
Oilers are 61% goals for with just McDavid and no Draisaitl
Oilers are 45% goals for with neither of them on the ice
but ...
Oilers are 41% goals for with Draisaitl on the ice but not McDavid.

I said after the Oilers opened the vault for Draisatl, that the Oiler fans would eventually turn on that contract.
I mean to date I've watched Oilers games and even though Draisatl has the points, he's just not been all that great, he's certainly not a 8.5 million dollar elite player. He's a complimentary player, and if you pay complimentary players franchise dollars your screwing your franchise into the turf.

I still can't believe the Oilers executive brass called to NHL to contact FAN960 and get them to stop playing it.

Only two Cs were signed as RFAs and make more than him. The list of fairly recent RFA centres he is paid more than is absolutely goofy.
