After that refreshing Chance episode my hope is they quit going to the well too many times. James Franco and Kevin Hart are retreads. If not for the scandal Louis CK I am sure would have been back. Lemmie guess we will have one of Alec Baldwin, Martin Short, and Steve Martin back or all three by year end.

SNL needs to take more risk on new guests. We’ve seen Franco and Hart several times now, move on.

I'd like to see Jon Hamm return eventually. That guy has been comedy gold every time he's been on.

You mean the Ambiguously Gay Duo. That was a funny one for sure.

But this is the best Hamm skit by far:

Haha, I loved how utterly bizarre that skit was. Reminded me of Kids in the Hall a little bit. Also, the use of the original Teen Wolf music was a nice touch.

I thought the show was terrible, and the host was incredibly boring. Kate as Theresa May was funny, though.

Yeah, I thought it was one of the worst episodes in a while. Hopefully they were saving all the good stuff for their Christmas episode.

Anyone else think Kyle Mooney is the worst actor to ever be on SNL? He just looks painful infront of the camera and is never funny.

Yes, in that classroom sketch, he had a line where he was supposed to be speaking to the new kid, but was looking in a completely different direction.

His comedian bit on Weekend Update is always hard to watch.

Was waiting for the pay off on that 80's fast running office dude skit.

Still waiting.

He must be a very good writer because agreed, he stinks.

I thought he was a good straight man on update and the American girl sketches.

I thought the episode as a whole was pretty good.

Cold open was good with Hillary as Death
The Welcome to Hell short was awesome
The bachelor auction although predicable was funny

Outside of the running short which never paid off the show was solid.

Just shows the wide diversity in what people find funny even just amongst SNL fans. I think Kyle Mooney is brilliant and even better when paired with Beck Bennett. And I thought The Race sketch was just the bee's knees of hilarity. I love all the little details they stuffed into that sketch. Too many to mention (especially the countless little homages to the 80s) but here are things that really made me laugh:

- the exaggerated bend over backwards laughter of Alex Moffatt when Saoirse declared that Kyle Mooney would go get the documents
- Greta Gerwig's line readings
- the visual joke that the starting pistol was a real gun
- Beck spitting in Kyle's face

I liked that short a lot actually. I just find him generally not that funny.

I like Pete Davidson a lot but I don't think he's great in sketches. His weekend update stuff is awesome and apparently he writes a lot of stuff too.
