Assuming FStream adds the support for the way Apple does multitasking, then it should work such that you can respond to a text and your music will still play.

They aren't actively running really. They're just available for fast app switching.

yeah, I know. But still, it not fast app switching if I have to scroll through as many screens as I would have to otherwise.

So, you can lock the screen in portrait orientation, can you lock it in landscape?

Unfortunately Apple has put the onus on developers to properly support the iPhone multi-tasking scheme. It is the developers responsibility to save the state of the application before resigning active and when re-assuming.
It's a compromise. Battery life versus full application running in the background.

Exactly, I care way way more about battery life than multi-tasking. One of the biggest problems i used to have with my old dell axim was that you had to go in and kill a task in order for it to stop running. If you forgot, your battery life was lucky to last an hour.
Anyway, re: my bluetooth problem, it turns out that the newest OS allows you to have volume control on both your bluetooth device AND your iphone. Unfortunately the volume is set to 0 when you first install it so you have to go to the rocker on the side and turn the volume up. Seems like a simple solution but considering the volume buttons on the iphone were always locked before, I didn't even think to check it, I just kept trying to turn up the volume on my headset.
Anyway, in case anyone else has this problem, that's the fix.

Has anyone tested Cisco SSL VPN connectivity yet? The iPad update to iOS4 hasn’t come out yet (September, I guess), so I can’t test it, but this is a feature that I’m looking forward to.

You can create playlists now on the device itself. About bloody time.
Overall the update isn't bad. I'm not huge on the multitasking thing..nice to have I suppose but it doesnt seem like something that'll make a huge difference to my iphone use.
I love being able to group apps in folders now. Less clutter is better. And I love that my background Flames logo is now always there to be seen.

Anyone having any of the common problems?
So far I have no data (could be coincidental) and all my contacts were deleted. Fortunately that did not sync to my google account or I'd be really pissed.

A weird problem I noticed, does anyone else have it?
My homescreen is nice and clear, so I'm fairly confident it isn't my screen. However, it seems like since I've updated all my images are more pixilated and blurry. Some were taken from my phone, but lots were either stolen off facebook or other sources.

This is one of the "common problems" - try re-synching your pictures, that seems to fix the problem for a lot of people...

Thanks Ah123. That did work.
Making playlists is the best!
Road trips especially that will be invaluable.
I actually think making playlists on my phone is now easier than in itunes on my computer.

Two months, but developers were only allowed to submit binaries built with OS4 when the GM seed came out (about 10 days prior to the general release). As such, there's probably a queue of them that haven't been approved yet.
