August long backpacking hike to Luellan lake and back on August long weekend 17km 1 way.

I wish I would have had the energy to get to badger pass on day 2 but instead only made it half way and decided to turn back

Lake Agnes hike in Lake Louise with parents and gf 3.5km in. Just taken with basic Canon 5MP camera (I like taking pics but not paying big money for expensive camera)

Nice hike but a constant uphill so can be straining if you parents are a bit older and a bit on the heavy side.

Also the Tea House was a complete let down. Complete rip off, food was not good. If you do this hike dont rely on the tea house for food. Hike it up with you and and eat what you want.

I didnt hike the little or big beahive but am planning on going back later in Septamber. Really exceptional views even though the hike isnt the easiest.

Yeah, I love that whole Crownsest Pass area. I swear it can feel like the Swiss Alps at certain moments.

I'm gonna actually recommend that you reconsider that position. I wouldn't say this to anyone, but your photos specifically would be greatly improved by more dynamic range. You're still gonna have problems shooting into the sun but not as bad.

Since moving here, I've been dragging the wife out into the mountains quite a bit. Some images of her torture. She puts in a valiant effort for a city girl princess.

Canoeing on Moraine Lake

Fording the Bow Lake Outlet (Bow Lake on the Left. Bow River on the Right)

Deciding if she has any morale left to try and summit Bow Peak. She didn't, so I have to go back and finish it myself.

And one wifeless pic looking along the south edge of Bow Lake towards a few slivers of the Crowfoot Glacier

I'm also hitting up Waterton for September long weekend. Going to try for the Lineham Ridge hike including Upper Rowe Lakes, but not sure if the lady will be up for a 19+ km return trip.

First few shots from my new D800.

These three were all taken with my 105mm f/2.8 macro lens.
I haven't gone on any "real" shoots yet, stay tuned.

I'm absolutely amazed by this camera, it rocks!

Just a friendly heads up: last time I tried that we damn near had to call STARS, and I'm currently divorced.

Lucky you!
Back on the prowl in the YYC isn't a bad spot to be in. There are some absolute rockets around here in every age bracket. Enjoy your good fortune!

The fact that 18 is the legal drinking age in AB makes it just that much more filthy for the aspiring Dirty Old Man. Get on that.

my wife and i went to the tyrrell museum on our recent visit to calgary. it was pretty cool - lots of neat stuff to see. the lighting in the museum is very low - which made getting pics a little tough
