This feels just as much like any of those Olympic teams to me

Congratulations to Bloemen and Canada for winning the 10K in an almost perfect race.

I have to admit that this one hurts. Sven Kramer is the best speedskater ever. He deserved the gold. Especially if you know his story behind the 10K.
I circeld this day on the calendar when I first saw the schedule. I even took the day off.

In his first reaction Kramer told Dutch reporters that he already knew he wasn't going to beat Bloemen's (and Bergsma's) time. He isn't in the shape he was last year when he skated the track record (which is faster than the OR)

"I wasn't good, it was a disaster. I knew it already. Besides that, Bloemen's time was absolutely fantastic. All credits to him"

I will always prefer the best of the best against each other, but this is still high quality hockey.

I wanted to see Gaudreau on a line with Patrick Kane so bad lol.

Homan is s****** the bed early on. 0-2 to open up the Round Robin.

Hopefully she gets a good nights rest and totally resets for tomorrow

Awesome feel-good story for Wolski in these games. His first goal was amazing.

Jeez. Homan's rink better be careful. Need to pick up a couple of wins against Denmark and the US to get on track.

So Brodie, Brouwer and Ferland for Kane?

So that’s a Gold, Silver, Bronze won today, and two hockey games! Pretty good day for Canada!

Does this grind anyone elses gears? Remember when the standing were always listed by gold medal winners as the top team, now they are on CBC showing it by total won.

I remember I think it was Salt Lake or maybe Vancouver where the US was behind Canada in golds, the year we set our gold medal record, and in US papers they started to show rankings by total medals won, instead of the old by gold medal wins first, Canadians were all in a tiff over it. Now CBC ranks it like this.

I think CBC has always done it by total medals. Pretty much every publication in Canada has.

Except 2010. Because we had the most gold, so it made sense to rank by gold to make us 1st.

How about assigning points? 3 for Gold, 2 for Silver, 1 for Bronze.

Norway = 36
Germany = 35
Canada = 26
Netherlands = 27
USA = 19

Does not change positions much.

Czechs beat the Koreans 2-1. Koreans actually took the lead through Minho but then gave up a stupid shorthanded goal for the eventual game winner.
Cassie Campbell was raving about how good Cervenka looked and kept wondering how it didn't work out with the Flames.

He was playing Korea!

To be fair, if he was given a proper training camp/full season he may have blossomed over here.

I was hoping they would have brought him back for one more.

Agree.

Between the lockout, and then his blood clots issue, I don't think he ever got a fair shake in the NHL.

I think he was talented enough - just needed to be in better shape (and not be sold as a center) and it would have worked out.
