A quick check of the news on my tablet while i'm pinching a loaf or two followed by a shower and some breakfast.
Off to my desktop where I check my email, CP and Sportsnet.

The three main sites I visit are CP, Facebook and Reddit.
I used to read a bunch of webcomics, but they've all either ended or become super boring/preachy, so I don't read them anymore.

I had to look it up to remind myself if it was a comedy site or a rotten.com like site.

At first I was going to say pics or it didn't happen, but quickly thought better of it. But still I am intrigued and mortified simultaneously. You have multiple legit loaves in the same pinch!? A loaf and then some after-shocks is normal, but two proper sized loaves in the same pinch is...is...whaaaa?

Kinda just hoping that “pinching a loaf” means something else in this case. Maybe going around the supermarket ruining loaves of bread while browsing the web or helping out in the bakery putting the finishing touches on some dough.

I honestly have no idea how you people internet without an RSS reader. Websites these days are a disaster to find new stories.

I'd be very interested how you set up your RSS reader and the program you use. I tried setting something up but it ended up being just a central point of noise with articles I wasn't interested in at all everything squished together.
How that works vs going to a web site of choice where you generally quickly know where to look and the format / navigation experience.

Feedly is online, takes very little effort to setup and it stays in sync between web browsers and mobile. I setup categories, so I put all the web comics in one, news in another, tech stuff, one for spoilers that sports stuff goes into, so I don't open it if I haven't watched the program, etc. I have one for "important" which I put CBC headline and Calgary news into, along with a few other sites that I review first.
I never actually read everything that comes in, but you can scan loads of headlines from everything you are interested in very quickly. As you scroll past them, they get marked as read so they disappear the next time you go back to that category.

I second the use of an RSS reader (I also moved to Feedly when Google Reader died). It works great for sites that provide new content on a somewhat regular basis (news sites, web comics, blogs, etc). As Fuzz said, it is online, so I usually just keep one tab open to it and check it periodically throughout the day. The mobile app is convenient and more than good enough, though Google Reader was better.
Categorizing feeds is great. You can also see at a glance how many new articles are in each feed and each category. Scanning a feed's list of new headlines is way more efficient than browsing to a site and scrolling through the stories. It would be impossible for me to manually check all the sites I have set up in Feedly on a daily basis, let alone several times a day. Another bonus is that RSS informs me of updates on sites that are rarely updated: one webcomic I followed just updated after 8 years, and the only way I knew about it was because it popped up on my feed. Another webcomic only updates a few times a year.
That said, it's not meant for discussion sites like CP where a threaded view is far more useful. For CP, I'm sure I'm not alone at doing something like this:
I had a chrome extension at one point that would periodically refresh all tabs but didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Instead, I've mapped F5 to a thumb button on my mouse, and just click each tab and refresh when I want to check for updates.

Re: Feedly
excellent, I am in need a good RSS feeder. Twitter kind of worked to bring the news/headlines to me years (and years!) ago, now its just a colossal time-waster
