Pakistan can move into the top 4 if they defeat NZ by a big enough margin. At this point I'm just hoping NZ beats Sri Lanka and stays ahead of Pakistan on NRR because they haven't looked good against the top sides.

Ooof demolition job by the Indian bowlers.

Kohli gets his hundred to tie his idol Tendulkar. India posts a massive score on a tricky wicket thanks to smart batting by Sharma, Kohli and Iyer.

After that, the Indian bowlers took it home. SA's vaunted batting line up crumbled against the bowlers.

if NZ beat Sri Lanka by 1 run, Pakistan need to beat England by 130 runs or chase in 28 overs.

Absolutely insane innings by Maxwell. Australia are going to win this entire world cup thing aren't they?

Gonna be a few tired Aussies today who drank all day for the Melbourne Cup and then stayed up late for the cricket.

Maxwell set like 5 records being the first Aussie, first non opener, and first run chaser to ever score 200. Goes without saying it’s also the highest score for a run chaser and he also set the all time record for most hundreds batting 5th or less.

New nickname for Maxwell is Mr. 1% which was the Australian win probability after losing their 7th wicket. Just an insane performance that gets better when you consider he bowled 10 overs and dealt with extreme cramping in the Indian conditions.

Semi finals are set: India-NZ and South Africa-Australia. For some reason Pakistan lost to hapless England to send NZ through so no NRR calculatio s were needed, and once again NZ squeak through to play a heavily favored India just like in 2019. Here's hoping that all the pressure of being the favourite at home gets to India and underdog NZ can do just enough to get by as they so often do! South Africa are favourites over Aus but they have a reputation of choking in big games while the Aussies tend to be the opposite. Will SA exorcise the ghosts of tournaments past (particularly 1999)? Will India hold their nerve in front of immense public scrutiny?

Go New Zealand!

The other semi final could be a washout with rain expected tomorrow and more rain for the reserve day.

India on their way to a massive score. King Kohli with his 50th century, overtaking house idol Tendulkar. What a player.

Big test for NZ especially considering the quality of the Indian bowling attack.

ETA: NZ set a target of 398 to win. They almost chased down 388 in their 5 run loss to Australia. We know the Kiwis don't go down without a fight.

266/4, New Zealand need 132 in 60 balls

India book their ticket to the final. Shami with 7 wickets. His two wicket burst to get the openers and then another 2 wicket burst to get out Williamson and Latham were crucial.. After that it was relatively smooth sailing for India.

This is India's cup to lose. Hopefully one of SA or Aus will be worthy contenders.

Looking like an India Australia final at the Cricket World Cup.

Australia skittled South Africa for 212 runs. They're currently 54/0 and racing away to reach that total. Boy oh boy, South Africa will never be able to get rid of the "choker" tag.

Travis Head with one of the all time great batting performance in a cricket world Cup final. Australia win and with that they're test and ODI cricket champions. Cummins played a huge role both as a bowler and as a captain. India couldn't do anything.

Congrats Australia.

Yay Aussies! They started off the tournament slow but saved their best performance for the final.

Can only laugh at India building the world’s biggest cricket stadium that their PM named after himself, only to get smashed there hosting the would cup final with 100,000 fans in silence.

Well deserved by Australia and what a performance by Head. He took an awesome catch to get rid of Rohit. Great captaincy as well, winning the toss and bowling first was a ballsy move.
