Then he wouldn’t be part of NHL broadcasts.

Wait, negative about Pat? I mean everyone in media has been criticized, but I can't recall much bad-mouthing him around here.

Yup, the Fan960 is very lucky to have Pat. An extremely hard worker who is very good at his job. I've randomly mentioned it in threads twice this year already because of the crazy times he'll jump on air to cover the latest Flames trade for us nuts to listen to. I really hope he is being rewarded fairly because he absolutely deserves it.

Used to be a regular Overtime caller from about 2012-2018 or so. Haven’t called in for years but always appreciated talking to Pat. He always gave me the time of day to say my piece and if he didn’t agree he never insulted me or berated me.
Still tune in to listen and he’s still the same with almost everyone. Also by far the best personality on Fan960.

Don't know about that.

I really enjoy listening to Pat. He is on the optimistic side, which you would expect but I find his takes on the team's performance to be very balanced and informative.
He and Boomer really are the pinnacle of the profession in the Calgary market IMO.

Have avoided cp this season, but had to login and give credit where credit is due.
As an old time Calgary Flames fan, and fan from afar here in Toronto, I love pat and everything he does for Calgary

I listened to Pat long before I knew CP existed. Sometimes I didn't know what I was more upset about, no more flames hockey or no more post game shows.
I wish Conroy would do a proper sit down with Pat, he just would be much better than Seravalli or anyone else at getting the message across to us fans.

I have nothing against Pat, and he won't ever be my favorite when it comes to interviewing people, but he grew on me a lot over the years. He is a tireless worker, he's passionate, and he grew as a broadcaster a ton. He doesn't make the same CBA mistakes anymore(like the one with waivers), and he seems very well connected with the team. He has to toe the company line like anyone on the fan, but that's in the job description, so I can't hold it against him.
PS: I feel for the guy every time he has to do overtime.

In a perfect world I'd have dedicated myself to one craft the way Pat has and mastered it. Maybe one day I'll reach that point. Pat serves as a shining example for all the quiet hard workers in this market who put their heads down and do their best even when the going gets tough.
Sometimes I'll keep his overtime show on while I work late at night and it keeps me going through the fatigue because if Pat can keep calls rolling in dealing with sometimes unintelligible rants into the early hours, I can keep working too.
Love those rare cases in broadcasting where work ethic and passion turn into longevity in a position that's surely difficult to hold down in the midst of cutbacks and Rogers stripping the operation down to its bare bones.

Patrick is legitimate.
#1 he has constantly & impressively embraced & learned from being wrong.
This is something, if embraced, that would improve the insecure Richard lickers who inhabit this space immensely.
#2 Predicated on having critical thinking capacity, Pat has the ability to separate the wheat from the chaff, or the music from the noise.
#3 He is the kind of organic Calgarian (along with Harnarayan Singh) whom
everyone in the city would like to have their children’s sense of place replicate.
