Sure, I just think Garland makes less money for longer and therefore costs more to acquire.

Just listened to Tre's presser. He's certainly aware that he has extra dmen and sounds open to moving one for a forward.

That's what the team is once Hanifin is up for his extension. Regardless of Kadri they needed a center. Weegar signing would/could have an impact on Hanifin, but not Kadri.
Holy ####. This team has the perfect reset button. Cap space, and time to analyze the current team.

I'm open to Phil the Thrill but we have no cap space left!

I'd rather play one of the kids than sign Kessel

Flames have an estimated $2.13m in cap space with a 21-man roster, and that's with Valimaki eating up $1.55 as the 7D

They have room for one player at the $750k league minimum and another player making as much as $1.38 million.

I’ve heard from friends at the Saddledome Kesselx1 year and Weeger contract re ups x 7years.
Will see if it pans out the way they describe.

I don't think Kessel is interested to come to Calgary. He is looking for a team that will guarantee him to keep his iron man streak going.

Who knows what Sutter will do in terms of lineup changes and player scratches...

He is cheaper. However Boeser is sort of one of their star players, so there's a PR aspect.

I think Phil is only like 10 games away from breaking the record. So after that ... might not be as big a deal.

Does Kessel fit into Sutter’s up-tempo style game?

I avoid watching the Leafs as much as possible, did Kessel and Kadri play together much in Toronto?

He is a deceptively fast player and gets into the zone well. He will have to commit to full ice disruption when the opponent has the puck.

EDIT: he's a good hitter

Kessel huh? Never would have thought in a million years. I usually roll my eyes at the "oh will THAT guy get along with Sutter" comments because he's an all-time great and a multi-cup winning coach... but Kessel for me is an exception where I do ask that. because he is a very uh unique individual

Kessel is at 982, 7 games behind Yandle's 989. I think he wants to at least get to 1000 games

Everyone wants to play for the Flames now...those two morons don't know what they had

There are like 3 or 4 good teams in the west and the Flames are one of them
