After the 2020 bubble playoffs I would have been fine had they fired treliving’s; however, I also realized that off season was short and doing that may have lead to a hot mess. Obviously the 2020-21 season was a bit of a mess anyways and once again I thought maybe it is time; however, brad seems to have an ability to make things happen in the off season.
The team was dealt a double whammy this year, and brad and his staff have managed to rework most of the roster quickly and the next battle of Alberta the flames will look quite a bit different.
It is hard to imagine another GM and his staff doing much better than Brad and team did this summer.

The season hasn't started yet with the new acquisitions. We've seen how a Flames team go from almost at the top of the standings to almost down at the bottom in one season.
Spoiler!

I think based on the rollercoaster ride of the offseason, the Flames will be the Sportsnet/HNIC darlings for the season instead of McDrai/the crap hole up north like the last several seasons.

The end of that National interview really irked me.
Lol I think that was the point.

The attention is already triggering the Oilers resident basement blogger
LOL is there any doubt the Flames and this city are living rent free in his head? When the media slobbers all over the Oilers it means they are on the road to greatness but one positive mention of the Flames and it's the kiss of death? What a weirdo.
LOL I get that some Edmontonians have an inferiority complex when it comes to Calgary but the Flames and this city are living rent free in his head. Good for Treliving for not giving the Oilers any bulletin board material. You just know if someone from the Oilers organization was asked a question like that, they would have been sniffing their own armpits.

Good Bob McCown podcast with Brad. Take a listen if you have Spotify.
- did not know that Matthew would leave when Johnny left, assumed Matthew would sign. Reason Matthew left was not linked to Johnny leaving.
I thought he mentioned he wasn’t that surprised when he found out Matthew was going to leave (or less surprised than he was when Johnny left)? I listened to it last week though so I may be remembering incorrectly

Maybe at some point the narrative will shift to "McDavid is the greatest hockey player ever to never win anything". That's something I can get behind.

Thanks for this, it’s a really good listen.
Treliving says the biggest leverage he had in the Tkachuk trade was that he’s a great player and that players of his age and skillset rarely hit the market.
Also said a major goal heading into the off season was improving the defense. Said they identified it as an area they needed help after the playoffs. Don’t think they are trading any of the top 6 for a forward.
Tre also thought they had a deal to free up cap space before the Monahan deal, but it felt through. Probably the Looch trade that bingo alluded to earlier in the off season?
