Michael Chandler landed one of the sickest (and scariest) knockouts I’ve ever seen.

Pretty satisfying to see Oliveira win after Gaethje said he had no heart and the USA chants.

It's unfortunate what happened on the weight scale, but he's still the champ in my mind

Rose/esparza fight was probably the worst fight I’ve ever watched, not to mention it was for a belt. Luckily it was sandwiched between the Chandler KO and Oliveira sub.

Gaethje got sucked into fighting stupid and swinging for the fences.

The USA chants are always stupid.

Oliveira is definitely not the champ anymore. He may be again after the next fight but missing weight is a big deal in a title fight, and really unprofessional.

Big question is do we see Oliveira vs Makhachev which would be really interesting...

What did you make of Rogan's comments about discrepancies between the scales? Sounded like he made weight on one scale but not the one on the stage?

I saw some tweets from fighters who fought on the same card and they said same thing - that the backstage scale showed 0.5 less than what was read on the official scale.

Apparently, this was happening because someone reset the scale overnight:

https://twitter.com/user/status/1522662344781930503

Gaethje said he didn’t have any problems with the scale though, so who knows.

Dana did say he would assign a security guard to watch the backstage scale from on, so hopefully this doesn’t happen again, if that is what happened.

Just seems silly that people are allowed to go up to a pound over for non-title fights, but it’s not allowed for title fights.

Oliveira might be the most entertaining fighter on the roster right now - kinda like a young Tony Ferguson, the definition of a kill or be killed fighter. Him vs Khabib would’ve been a really interesting stylistic matchup. But since Khabib is retired, Oliveira vs Makhachev is the next best thing.

Who does Alex Periera fight next?

That guy is a stone-cold killer.

Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz booked for UFC 279 on the last fight of Nate’s contract after a long contract dispute.

The UFC is really gonna embarrass and bury Nate on his way out. This is probably the worst possible matchup for him.

It isn't a good matchup but Nate can take a beating. In a one punch sport he may take one and still win with a surprise against a rookie. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Anyway, Dana White is a dbag and just wants to devalue him when the contract is up for negotiation. Nate will come back but it's such a ####ty way of treating a long time draw for the company.

Julianna Pena is tough but Nunes just dominated her to get her 2nd belt back.

Pretty much cements herself as the greatest female MMA fighter of all time.

That was a crazy head kick.

What a crazy-ass sport, I’m in shock right now. Everything about Edwards’ body language said he was done. Might be the craziest title fight finish I’ve ever seen

Watching old man Rockhold go out on his shield was fun to watch too. Him and Costa was wildly entertaining

Missed weight by 7.5 pounds? That seems like a lot.

Just get rid of the extreme weight cutting already.

Make a fighter weigh in a week before the fight, day before the fight, and day of the fight under the weight class threshold and you wouldn't have these issues.

Rumours now ferguson will fight diaz and holland will fight chimaev tomorrow night as per yahoo sports..... How is it fair to switch all these fights the day before the fight just for UFC to save a $$ loss ? All that prep and strategy out the window for these guys.....

Looks like Chiamev didn't even try to make weight... was spotted eating for hours the night before weigh-ins. Dude didn't even care at all

https://twitter.com/user/status/1568289756198608896

Love that this matchmaking backfired on Dana and the UFC, feels like sweet justice.
Making Chimaev vs Nate was basically an attempted hit on Nate to try and embarrass him on the last fight of his deal.

Very happy for Ferguson too, this should have been the original fight made - both have fallen off but it should be a great fight between two OGs with high striking volume and great BJJ
