Last time the Flames had three head coaches in a season, the third one was Darryl Sutter.

I remember Laviolette and Johnny having a pretty good relationship from their Team uSA days. If it means giving Gaudreau the confidence he needs, then get it done, cause that guy is a shell of his former self.

Also the last (only?) time they hired a proven top-tier coach in his prime.
Definitely don't want to go down that road again, what with the proven playoff success of this franchise with hiring rookies and retreads on their way out.
Thinking from such a panicked, scarcity based mentality on these topics is unnecessary. It's not a race. he's getting paid handsomely for the time in between now and his next hire. He's surely gonna weigh his options then decide. Getting a phone call in 5 minutes before SJ or DAL won't make a difference.

I would not be in a rush to hire Laviolette. I think Ward earned the chance to finish out the year. I don't see the coach as the problem.
No offense..but this is such a Flames minded approach. Nice guys of the NHL.
Its not about Ward being a problem. Its about striking while a great option is available.

How dare you question the decision making of this organization. How dare you?

David Quinn was handpicked for the NYR job after a stellar career at BU. He is presently only in his second season and has seen a pretty solid improvement from the young Rangers team under his watch.

The only question with hiring Laviolette should be whether he wants to sign here. And maybe ask him if he ever told a black player to turn off his music.
Laviolette is such a good coach he hasn’t done Jack! No thanks!
He's been to three Stanley Cup finals, one with each of his last three teams, and has a ring... I beg your pardon?

Exactly, too many of our fans are fine with mediocrity. Id rather win and you have a better chance of winning when you constantly look to upgrade and aren't content with being "ok" or "fine"
